drove a 1960 REO YEARS AGO LOOKED ALOT LIKE IT...thanks for sharing,,,cat engine impressive...bob
Truck was repowered with the V8 CAT long before we owned it. Its noisy, smoky when cold and doesn't make a ton of power, but it runs good and is still a lot of fun!

Emptying out the pictures on my phone and thought I'd share this one. CAT 1160 engine with a 5 spd /4 aux. Has air assist steering on it. We use it around the place and will haul a few loads of gravel each year as well. Anybody else seen one of these lately? I saw a fire truck version for sale last year or so but that's it. Thanks

Hey....Lookit that....An FWD Firetruck.....Here on BMT......Who'da thunk THAT?
Welcome Pointychops......I own 1958 #F80438 with the F554G (140GZ) Thunder Pumpkin. 750/500. I have a 5-speed overdrive Clark transmission, a rarity in FWD Firetruck chassis.
Wow, your truck is beautiful! I'll look for your facebook group. My truck was a Royal Canadian Air Force Crash truck from B.C., it had a seperate high pressure pump (foam I'm guessing) as well as its 800gpm big guy. After the RCAF it was bought by a volunteer dept. here in Idaho who removed the high pressure pump, but everything else seems intact and works well. Pretty sure my truck has a Clark, but not so sure its an overdrive, its happy at 55mph. Nice to find someone so knowledgable on these trucks. Thanks
