I looked for one to fit my 'BB' for several years, put ads in Wheels Of Time and Double Clutch before I found a reproduction. I bought one from Gene Olson. He is a former ATHS president. I don't know if he has another one.

They have asked American Truck Historical Society (ATHS) to get people to bring antique trucks to fill in empty locations. I don't know how much space has not sold, because it always changes. It will be a strange show this year. I just wonder how much it will hurt attendance?

Do you have any part numbers on parts your wanting.

I agree with fxfymn, Doug Klink is very good source of know how much it cost to do different areas of restoration. Price depends on how far you want go into restoration. How perfect do you want it to be?, that is the question you need to ask to determine how deep to go in a restoration.

Great story! If more departments would donate or sell reasonable more truck's to department with limited funds, it would be greatly appreciated! My younger brother is a volunteer at a rural department in Tennessee and they struggle to keep trucks in good shape and running. I think they have 3 CF's that are second or third hand trucks.

That's a deal on a compressor rebuild. What is the name of the company, might need the information some time.

They are not very loud. I took one off a 49 L fire truck because it rang all the time. I still have it somewhere.

Fire trucks never have had weights posted. If you license it as antique you shouldn't have to worry about weight

In past years, I have helped fill unsold spaces with antique trucks through the American Truck Historical Society (ATHS) , but the last few years were always sold out!

This means that there will be no Class 8 truck manufacturer's represented at the show. Last year there were over 80,000 attendees at the three day show. I wonder how much this will affect the amount of people coming to the show

Beautiful truck, I restored reg #7042, 1935 model "V" ex-Louisville, KY. Very similar body style and just a neat looking truck!

Just now saw this post, great story and pictures. My truck is a "BB" model, and was converted from a chassis/ cowl to a fire truck. It has a Prospect pump, bed , and seat adapted to the truck. It is currently apart, restoring it complete from frame up.

I recently got a carb gasket set for a carb like your off ebay for a carb off a 1923 Ahrens-Fox front pumper that I am working on for the Vintage Fire Museum in Indiana.

Kirker paint makes a correct red paint for Mack, It is reasonably priced and you should be able to find locally, Also a Mack Dealer has red paint also. The original paint number used on th e fire trucks in the '50's is a different number and is superceded to the #400 paint.

Fire trucks are a lot more fun than classic cars. They are a magnet as everyone is drawn to a big red truck! You got a good deal and yes it is not cheap and no you won't get good gas mileage but the smiles per mile will make it worth it!!

Fxfymn where or who is the source of rails? Mine are black pipe with a cover (stainless) and I may want to replace them
