The truck had been with one fire dept all along and I know the dept. If the city name was ever stamped on the horn button, it's faded beyond recognition now. You can barely make out the bulldog on the button. I contacted the Mack Museum and they told me it is a 1969.

I'm looking at a Mack CF685F that is for sale in my area. The seller does not have much information on it and doesn't know what year it is. I'm guessing it's a '68, due to the serial number of 1049 and it does not have the aluminum fascia on the front. I can't seem to find the VIN on the truck, but I did find a tag on the front section of the driver door frame that has the number 25841 stamped on it.
Any help on what year the truck is would be appreciated.
I'd add a picture, but I'm not sure how.

Beautiful truck! My father drove one very similar when I was a child & I got to ride in it in parades, etc.
