  1. Clockwise for sure. once we cranked it that confirmed the direction. also got some brake clean and steel wool on the balancer and found the 90 degree markings. runs like a top now--smooth as can be and no smoke. Thanks again. that was a huge help

  2. does anyone know the engine turning sequence for valve timing on an 865 engine? firing order is 15486... We started with number 1 at top center and both valves were closed. turned the engine one revolution back to "TC" and both seemed closed on 5 as expected so we adjusted those, turned it once again and went to number 4 but the exhaust valve seem closed. Is there something we are missing on the procedure? Does one turn of the engine not get the next cylinder to TC? Thanks

  3. Hi I'm new to the forum. Got a real problem. Our '74 log self-loader is blowing fuel out of cylinder 4. Sooty fuel is dripping out the manifold and there's enough smoke to hide the truck from anyone behind it. At higher RPMs the engine starts popping real good. We pulled the injector and its soaking wet. Anyone seen this before or have suggestions on where to start? Hoping its not terminal. Thanks for any ideas! Will work on photos but only have dial-up out here so it takes a while...
