  1. Well,folks-it looks like I won't be getting the EH after all. The owner suddenly decided the amount we had agreed upon isn't enough,so he's sending back my deposit on it.

I'd still be interested except for 2 factors:1-Where I come from,if you make an agreement with someone, you stick to it.

You're absolutely right Speed. If that guy did this to me I would tell him to shove that truck. This happened to me once before with a private purchase. Except this lowlife knew I was financing a bunch of equipment including his POS. So I call the guy up 3 days after I initially spoke to him, tell him the financing is in place, where do I send the check? He says the price is'nt 60k anymore, it's 75k. I said "Good for you." and hung up.

  2. Try virgo fleet supplys in brooklyn NY........http://www.virgofleet.com/. he will have them.....call and ask for dave....tell them jack from D&D Carting gave you the #

That's my suggestion, Virgo, Dave has all those shifter handles/ knobs right in stock, but don't spread the word too far, or he'll be out of stock when I need em.

    PS: Hey Jack!

  3. I've been here a couple weeks reading all the posts. I see lots of friends from other trucking forums on here. I'm 40, live in NJ, have a garbage company in Newark and own a few Macks. Within the last year or so, my tastes have changed. I was a Peterbilt fanatic. Couldnt get my butt in anything but a Pete. This summer, I had to drive my 83 Mack DM packer garbage truck for a couple weeks. No A/C, blow-by that would kill a colony of bees, and a stink in the cab that makes you think you're in an oil refinery. I loved it. Since then I've been hunting for just the right Mack. I'm very fond of R-600's and the like, from the 80's. The first truck I ever drove was a 1982 RD Steel butterfly nose. Now it seems I have an itch to get behind the wheel of one. Nice to be here.
