tjc transport 1,276
depends on where he was when he hit whatever he hit to do that much damage. Quote when you are up to your armpits in alligators, it is hard to remember you only came in to drain the swamp..

Popular Post mrsmackpaul 2,531
I came across something a fair bit worse than that within the last 6 months A fella clipped a B double, (B train) between the fuel tanks and the drive axles in his car Tore the drive axles out and flung the tail shafts down the road The drive and A trailer Alcoa rims were folded in half, the B trailer rims were fine Car was a mess, I mean it was totalled, the fella in side fell asleep on cruise control and just drifted into the B double He was wide awake and in a very bad way when I found him Truck driver was a bit shaken as well My point to this is, we probably shouldn't pass judgement on things we dont really know about I have come across a few really bad head on collisions in recent years due to cruise control, rattles me every time Paul
Vladislav 3,006
On the picture above i think the tyres we so really bad it wasn't a trouble to remove the restovers from the wheels. After that having the inners Ok the driver continued the journey. Strange we see no damage to the fender. But if the rubbers stayed in circles they wouldn't catch it. 2 Quote Никогда не бывает слишком много грузовиков! leversole 11.2012

harrybarbon 220
Agreed Vlad, excellent observation, if the tyres blew but zero damage to the guard, the guard flaps and the metal frame , so maybe the rim damage cut the tyres, the driver pulled up and removed the tyres before any damage or is it made up to get our minds thinking what could have happened!!!
Vladislav 3,006
I saw cases (and even probably used that trick myself) when you need to install a rim or wheel to just fit the resting one correctly. For example if the wheel studs don't have threads long enough to tight nuts against the single wheels you would have to install an empty wheel just as a spicer. other dog 9,069
True, true, and true, i've done that before myself. I hit the base of a sign when I was making a hard right turn into the post place and bent a wheel one time. I went to the tire shop and had them take the outside tire off and drove it on back to the shop. 1 Quote Producer of poorly photo-chopped pictures since 1999.

Vladislav 3,006
With that much of damage to the wheels the axles must get some real cattywampus. 1 Quote Никогда не бывает слишком много грузовиков! leversole 11.2012
