antifreeze in oil

Recommended Posts

Just drained the engine oil on my Mack e6 350 motor. There was some antifreeze in it, not much. The  truck is a 1985 RS688LS . It has 105000 miles on it and 4600 hrs.  Any ideas on where it might be coming from and if so how hard is the fix?

Head gasket, oil cooler, cracked head/block, air compressor, you have to start eliminating things.    terry:MackLogo:

Thanks Terry.  How can water get in the oil at the air compressor?

It is oil lubricated and water cooled.   terry:MackLogo:

Pull valve cover and check core plugs , prone to leak with age ,  they are the 1/2 square plugs under valve cover . If they are. The issue it will be visible , just drain coolant down some remove and clean install pipe thread compound and reinstall , or could be one of many other issues . Start with easy stuff first
