Little work on the drop deck:

Recommended Posts

Finally ordered steel for this repair from a local supplier whom will sell small quantities. Will be replacing the rub rails, pipe spools, xmembers in the back, and deck runners. Also ordered new 4" X 3/4" X 20' long stringers to replace the existing tension strips on the bottom flange of the main beams too. These are heaving from rust and I'll cut them off, blast the frame clean and weld new back on. "Momma" says I can't have nuthin new unless I get rid of something so gotta fix what I already have. If scrap prices were better this one would go across the scales without the axles which would be used elsewhere.

The blaster I use will roll the trailer upside down to clean it up. I built their "rollover jig" several years ago and assume they still use it. Kinda nice too as they'll let me do the underside welding while it's over.
