Those South American Fords

Recommended Posts

Wow- I wonder what the life span of that air cleaner was? With that 6V -53 under that alligator hood you would have thought there would have been room to stick it under the hood with a big air scoop.  Any clue when this picture was taken?  By the looks of the vehicles in background not that long ago?

That air cleaner looks out of place.

6V53’s were tough engines but not designed for trucks. (My opinion) no 2 strokes were designed for trucks! Stationary engines

Hah  wonder if that went through the Manning Equipment mod center at Louisville??😎 Actually I like that 52-F-7 or F-8 blowin' smoke.  And what is with that turbo noise in virtually every one of these trucks??   And I guess  "side Pipes" were the in thing in ?Mexico??

I would bet that somewhere in South America some one has built a  FT-850 or even a FT-9500 with a sleeper from a 2000+  F-750.
