Is that an air vent of sorts in the drivers side headlight bucket or is it just missing a piece?

Nothing is missing or damaged.  That is a shadow from the light source hitting the front of the hood before the recessed headlight bucket.

drove one of the for years ,not a bad truck at all, the front spring is longer than a regular R model, lets it ride a little smoother on the steer axle.       terry:MackLogo:

The light bucket is deeper on the grill sides.

Yep, good trucks. Was lots of them here. Dump truck/pony combo's grossing 140,000 pounds with their E7 400's. Still a few going up and down the highway. Bulletproof workhorses just like the original R Model's.

I had one 93 8ll 300 hp 4-valve 4200 gallon tank 3100-1100 compartment.
