Could have, I unloaded pipes in New Castle and then went to Kittanning to get a load of graphite. Ran 422 all the way from New Castle to Ebensburg.

I'd have smashed one of my toes off by now if I didn't have boots on. Many jobs I've been to require boots.

Looks like a Municipal or State project based on curb cut and roadway and maybe a case of another inspector not enforcing the rules. Her sneakers are the least of the safety violations, the most glaring one is the idiot running the saw, no eye protection, no gloves, no dust mask or hearing protection. Then the other idiots starring at the operation without eye protection. In a couple of years we will see them on the TV bitching about blindness or respiratory problems and how they were harmed by their employer. Having been required to wear complete PPE in my occupation I think it is important and saved me more than once.----just my two cents!

If you work for me and show up with out long pants, safety shoes, traffic vest and PFD, safety glasses, a hard hat and your phone off and preferably locked in vehicle. You'll be going home with no pay, third strike you're  job hunting. Same for the end of the day. Bring your unit in with coffee cups and garbage in it,  don't throw it out and don't wash the unit down, just park it and leave . . .just keep on going . . . don't come back.

i had an inspector give me crap last week for not wearing steel toe boots, safety glasses, or a safety vest. . he wanted to throw me off the job. 

i told him when i get out of the truck wearing sneakers, no vest, and no glasses you can kick me out, but until then get off my truck. 

 

he watched me like a hawk, but never caught me out of the truck................because i don't get out on the jobsites.

Well, safety issues end up costing me money and reputation. As for clean equipment requirement I have it's this. I see someone who has no pride in caring for their equipment, be it cleanliness, appearance or maintenance I would expect the same issues with their work ethic.
