Why the US doesn't use tri-axle trailers allowing 44 metric ton (97,003lb) loads escapes me. Beautiful modern highways. In China with a tri-axle trailer, a 6x2 twin-steer or 6x2 tag-axle configuration tractor can gross 46 metric tons (101,413lb), and a 6x4 can gross 49 tons (108,027lb). .
