kscarbel2 Posted December 6, 2017 Share Posted December 6, 2017 Rainier Truck Targets 2018 Launch Heavy Duty Trucking (HDT) / December 5, 2017 Rainier Truck & Chassis, LLC, announced that it is set to reboot sales and products with a target production launch of summer 2018 for its Class 4-5 and Class 6-7 truck models. SINOTRUK has signed on to supply its cabins to Rainier's new low-cost, low-tech lineup of cabover trucks. With a starting MSRP of $37,185, the truck will be powered by a Cummins 6.7L diesel, rated at 300 hp and 600 lb.-ft. of torque or a 6.4L HEMI that achieves 370 jp and 429 lb.-ft of torque are standard on the Class 4-5 models. A 6.7L Cummins diesel engine that achieves 325 hp and 750 lb.-ft. of torque will be standard on the Class 6-7 models. Load leveling air suspension will be standard on all models. Ordering is open at www.rainiertruckandchassis.com. Rainier first launched its start-up in 2014 but ran into issues with its cabin suppliers and announced that with its partnership with SINOTRUK production is back on schedule. . But he's a chassis engineer, mostly for motor-homes. He's not a truck guy, and his chance for success was painted on the wall from day one. Most people aren't going to buy a no-name truck from a very small no-name truckmaker with a Chinese cab (nothing wrong with the CNHTC cab). Originally, Rainier was promising Cummins and PSI-sourced CNG/LNG/gasoline engines. However now he's talking of offering Cummins a Chrysler (FCA) HEMI. This "low-tech, low-cost" truck start-up said it is ready to move forward now that Sinotruk of Hong Kong has agreed to supply truck cabins. Customers can order trucks online at www.rainiertruckandchassis.com and take delivery through the Rainier Dealer closest to them. Rainier's lineup of COE trucks features: • MSRPs starting at $37,185 • Cummins 6.7L diesel with 300 hp./660 lbs.-ft. or torque or HEMI 6.4L 370 hp./429 lbs.-ft. gas engines will be standard on Class 4 and 5 models • Cummins 6.7L diesel with 325 hp./750 lbs.-ft. of torque will be standard on Class 6 and 7 models • A load-leveling air suspension is standard on all models "What has been a significant challenge since November of 2014 is over, and we look forward to producing an innovative cab-over work truck that delivers what our customers want: lower acquisition costs, more power, better dependability, simpler to service and comfortable to drive," said Gary Jones, owner of Rainier. The company has secured a 6,000 square-foot seven-bay facility on 13.5 acres with plenty of room for future expansion. Product rollout of their low cost, common cab/chassis COE platform has not changed. Rainier will offer the Cummins B6.7 300 & 325 hp diesel models first, then the 6.4L 370 hp Hemi gas, followed by an AWD pure electric model. In addition, the company announced that it is looking to compliment its Class 4-7 cab-over engine lineup and has got the initial go ahead to accept and offer a U.S. version of the Sinotruk A7 Class 8 cab-over engine. . kscarbel2 Posted December 7, 2018 Author Share Posted December 7, 2018 Rainier's Pilot Truck Plant Now Operational Heavy Duty Trucking (HDT) / December 6, 2018 After four months of renovation work, Rainier Truck & Chassis, LLC, of Yakima, Wash., has finally got its pilot production plant operational. Currently, the company is continuing to spec and secure components for production of its "low-cost/low-tech" common cab/chassis cabover engine platform. According to Gary Jones, president of Rainier, "The Pilot plant facility is 6,000 square feet located on 13 acres. The plant will be responsible for producing our first 200 trucks, which will be stall-built in six work stations. We will also have an assembly area for pre-assembly of axles/suspensions, engines and transmissions, fuel and air tanks, cooling and steering systems, etc." Additional expansion plans are in place for the future, according to the company. Rainier has added a 36,000-pound GVW Class “Baby” 8 COE truck model to its lineup called the RT 3600. The RT 3600 shares the same cab/chassis components with the rest of the Rainier lineup, except with higher gross axle weight ratings, and heavier-duty suspensions and steering components. In addition, the RT 3600 comes standard with the Cummins B6.7L 325hp with 750 ft.-lbs. of torque, which is mated to an Allison 3000RDS 6-speed automatic with push button shift selector. With the addition of the Baby 8 model, Rainier can now offer its dealers and customers a complete COE line up from Class 4 to 8.
