I thought that looks like a truck I've seen.     When I zoomed in, the town on the door is only about 15 miles from my house.

Pretty early R model with that tank and bracket, they were bullit proof, very little would go wrong with them.    terry:D

it is supposed to be a 1976. It also has shutters  when did they stop using those? I know my 79 doesn't have them.

I wondered if other people referred to that as a bathtub, or if  that was just a local thing.

I believe it was around 1976/77 or so when the cab emblem were no longer used on the R models.

Have heard them called bathtubs around here.

i have always known them as bathtub bodies too. my 05 kenworth has one on it.

as of late though, more and more people are referring to them as "rock bodes"

I came from Upstate New York and as a kid they were bathtubs also.

Called them that in the midwest too, infact years ago there was a Fruehauf plant here in Omaha.    terry:D

When they came out their advertising literature said "we just un cornered the dump body market" in the 70's I think.

We always called them tubs! Very ridgid structurally, one of our drivers rolled one over in Margate Florida, (a dump trailer) and it showed nothing but scratches when back on its wheels! He probably had to change his drawers though!😁
