Well said Paul. The problem is even when shown cold hard facts th majority of our country believes the bs spewed on the "news" channels. The US is in for some trouble unless we get some politicians who care more about the good of our country than being reelected.

The way 2018 is shaping up you may see more trump style people elected. getting pretty tired of the business as usual gang.

I disagree. The Currently employed baits people and picks up so much quarrels you wonder if it is out of lack of something to do.

Macks, you've got something there...if you work hard and do something constructive with your free time, you won't have time to look for something to be unhappy about.

some politician in Va is run under the pretense of ending the NFL monopoly ,didn't I say that a few days ago.I sure wish former pres Obama had been staying on richard  bransons private island when the hurricane came through , might have ended half of our problems .but them it would have been Trumps fault.

Now when you guys turn off the FootBall games get out in the yard/barn/garage and GET TO WORK ON SOME OF THOSE TRUCKS!!them and us aren't getting any younger. I'll crawl back under my rock now.

He and Obama have that in common, they both are waaaaaaaay too concerned about the Kardashians.

In this case Obama would have had "A White House beer with Kapernick" and Trump is going to beat him into the ground like a tent post.

Not Kim the woman but the one Obama and Bush should have neutered... Kim Il Jung

Kapernick wears "police pigs " sock and the NFL smile. but fine players from Dallas $12,000 each for having a small sticker on the helmets for the 5 Dallas police killed, The players that honored the 911 victims with special cleats were fined $10,000 each by he NFL, fine a player for miming shooting a bow and arrow, fine another for dunking the ball after a touch down, fine another for doing a victory dance in the end zone. Kinda like soft porn is terrible and hard core is okay.

I guess BLM and the Liberal Media runs the show in real life.

Yes, the one sided, liberal media is part of the problem.   These players and the Hollywood  people use their celiberty status  to voice their  opinions.  And the media goes along with it.   I agree as individuals  they have the right to protest.  But when they are on the field for a game, they are at work.   And if the team owner or coach had any respect for this nation and not just the dollar they would say " You stand or you go down the road".

It is a strange relationship America has with Hollywood.

In the medieval times the Kings ruled from a throne and were entertained by the court Jester(AKA Fool).

In modern times the Jester (AKA-Hollywood) kicks the King out of the throne and people listen intently to everything the fool says because He is more entertaining than the King.

If you want to vent your political views, do it somewhere else. Or am I infringing on your freedom of speech? Just like you're trying to do with NFL players protesting. Comedian Chris Rock said it best "... no white man in America would change places with me. And I'm rich." Veterans did not fight and die so that everyone had to bow to the whims of our dickhead-in-chief... that behavior is for North Korea.

Or is that the behavior you expect from freedom loving Americans? Or do you simply hate our Constitution?

You all want the right to free speech but you want to criticize those who do it. That in essence is your opinion and you are entitled to it.
I agree that showing proper respect to the flag is appropriate. However, I don't think it should be mandatory as it would be in say, Nazi Germany. You want to fire people or otherwise punish them for not saluting the flag?! WTF! As for me, I will honor God and Country and in that order. I will do it voluntarily and not be forced to do it.

Senator John McCain will defend their right to protest all day. War veteran and POW. Not a turncoat. Understands the value of freedom. "The prisoner of war, who was held and tortured for five-and-a-half years in Vietnam, struck back at the president's attack on athletes who take a knee in protest."

For those of you who aren't watching the NFL because of this circus sideshow distraction good for you...don't. Football has never been about politics for me, if anything it's an escape from that. All this extra stuff appeals to people who don't care about the games. I could care less about what goes on between plays, and I suspect most of you don't really follow football anyway or you wouldn't be turning off your tvs. Ratings are not down at all.

These are just distractions that don't have anything to do with football, the game, the sport. If you want to watch middle school football because there is no controversy there, good for you. I personally think it's there right to do whatever they choose as long as it doesn't violate your rights and you should respect their right. And they are paid to play football not for their off the field opinions.

Trumps comments are off-base. Firing someone because they have a dissenting opinion isn't right- try this at your workplace if you love this idea so much. YES SIR! NO SIR! This may be fine and even necessary for the military, not so great in a workplace that wants intellectual growth and requires employees to contribute.
