Odd cars you have restored

Here are a couple of Toronado's one a 66 the other a 67 that I restored mechanically. Paint and body was done by a friend. I don't own them was hired to restore them.  Anyone else have odd or limited production cars and pickups they worked on?

Not exactly rare but something you don't see every day, I restored a 68 Dodge Polara when I was 16/17. The kids at my high school all laughed the first time I drove it to school but when I laid a patch about 30 feet long in front of the Principal they stopped laughing........

I had a '87 Monte Carlo ss aerocoupe. It had a long sloping back window with a shortened deck lid. It was designed for NASCAR. A little funky to look at.

i am in the process of restoring a 65 Falcon 2 Door Hardtop with 289 and 4 barrel, and next on the list is a 66 7 litre 4 speed convertible.

My 1969 GTO Judge I bought in 1979 when I was in high school. Paid $200.00 ( had a hard time getting that) I did a frame off about 20 years ago. 68,000 miles. Ram Air III, 4 speed.

screw them, i will loose the pics and videos before i give them a penny.

Mack truck are those appliance wheels on the goat? Nice looking ride,I've always liked those wheels! Had a 53 commander coupe same model as truck shops, except a real p.o.s., 50 bucks painted od with a brush! 239 2 spd hydro ran good, but when you bottomed out at the bottom of a hill both taillights fell out and were hanging by the wire! Those were beautiful cars but tended to rust out badly in the "salt belt"!

My 1980 Firebird Formula. I bought this car in 1990 when I was a senior in High School.  Tore it apart in 2002 to do a frame off on it.  It's still apart.

Okay, there's not much unusual about this truck except that it was a '76 and a friend of mine had his '87 get totaled so I put the TBI engine, computer, and wiring harness in my '76. I did a frame-off at the same time; I loved that truck but it was a 1/2 ton so I ended up selling it in order to buy a 3/4 ton. I didn't care for the driveability of the TBI--the throttle was either on or off; no feathering. I have a '79 with a Holley carb and the throttle is really nice.

My brother and I share a 1968 roadrunner, 383 4 speed.  We did a 69 chevelle for a friend.  a 1962 chevy pickup, a 1946 ford pickup, a bunch of wrecks in the late 80's early 90's( mostly modern stuff, buy 2 cars,, merge them together in the name of repair).  Too many to list.

55 Chevy back in 1977 got photos but thier all buried. That boat is gorgeous you just topped everyones lol... Love that Jimmy almost bought a 76 brand new $4600 ha haha nowdays hard to find anything used for that...bob

My mom had a 49 Dodge Wayfarer convertible when I was born they're really beautiful cars lot of Chrome I'd forgot all about them until I saw one in Minden Nevada last Saturday morning somebody is working on I love to have one of those to go through but like most of us I don't know if I've got time for it now. Those old shoebox Chryslers are pretty rare these days you hardly see them..bob

The wheels are made by Enkei. I liked them because they looked like the Centerline wheels of old days.

I've restored quite a few cars and motorcycles over the past 30+ years. Actually made a living at it for a while.

Here's our 1941 Chevy Cabriolet. 216 c.i. with aluminum pistons, 1986 GM 2.8 rods to give me insert bearings and the rear was swapped from the factory 4:11 to a 1953 Powerglide 3:55.

1974  454 4 speed  El Camino, up dated  with a 1977 Nose, and 4 link  Ford 9 inch  detroit Locker. My 15,000 mile 1977 El Dorado convert in back ground 1 of 70 build by GM in 1977

1970 Monte Carlo SS 402/ 4 speed 48,000 miles. I actually put this car in Pape Chevrolets show room in 1969. # 17 of the line, with Pontiac chassis, rear and interior.

1951 Victoria, 1952 Merc flathead, 3 speed with O.D.

1955 Bel Aire ex gasser. Pop raced it in D/gas from 1962 until 1969 with 301 and 3 speed. I ran it from 1970 with 427 /4 speed as a street racer. Now powered by a Wayne Headed, Algon injected 302 GMC 6 with Hydro.

I don't know if this one applies, but I found this 1977 Lincoln Mark V sitting for years with only 1,500 original miles . I had it towed to my house pulled the gas tank and rebuilt the carburetor, plugs and coil .

Okay, I'll post the only odd one in the works right now. I bought this in 1980 ,finally started it when we moved to Virginia.   1972 Fiberfab Avenger / Valkyrie. was meant to be Corvair powered. GM 383 crate engine, ZF 6 speed transaxle with 2:73 gears. 2045 lbs, 420 h.p. Added wider flares and a GT-40 style spoiler and filled in rear air extractor grills.  Odd enough??

41, that 41 Chevy reminded me of the 48 fastback I had when I was 14! Only drove it on the property! One day I got off the school bus and walked to my car,noticed the hood was askew! Lifted it and it fell on the ground! The engine was missing! While I was at school my dad ran a load of scrap car bodies to the scrap yard and blew the engine on his 2 ton Chevy flatbed on the way home! He and the hired man pulled the 235 out of the truck and installed my 216! A step backward but it ran! What could I say he fed me with the money he earned! Where was the radiator on the fibrefab?

 The 41 I bought from the original owner in Coalsdale Pa., a decent running original car that was his wife's since new. I did the body , interior and running gear and left the original top on it. Engine wise took a few shims out of the rods and ran it for close to a year. Sitting in the shop warming up the original fiber timing gear went. Pulled the engine  had it bored .010, cut the crank .010 across the board added aluminum 6.5 pistons on modern 2.8 GM rods  for inserts instead of Babbitt bearings and had a 70% balance done on it. Added a Nippon Denso alternator from a Yamaha motorcycle  because it fit into the casing of the original 6 volt generator and looked stock. We took the car from L.I.N.Y. to the 1991 50th anniversary of the opening of the PA turnpike and than took Rte 66 from Chicago to the Fisherman's Pier in California (almost all of Route 66.) Sold it to a collector in San Diego and flew home. My wife and had had that as one of the trips of a life time, 4300 miles in, at the time a 50 year old car.
