r686st Posted May 17, 2016 Share Posted May 17, 2016 Keg1 my R had 5.73 and I swapped to 4.64's. It allows up to 75 mph and still has a lot of grunt on the low end so you can work off road. Think.... lowboy and dump trailer type of work. I also gained 1/2 mpg by doing the swap I'm very happy. This maybe a route for you to go so it will be more highway friendly. Haven't really got into specifics on mine yet, but cab parts inside & out and the grille if it's better than mine lol. Does yours have the level 3 Blue interior? I will probably take the drivers seat out and I don't think there's much else I can use. I would like to know what it weighs, I don't know if I can get it off with my forklift or not. Not done yet need to swap trans and rears , get interior in, mount headache rack and stacks and I think that should about do it. Took the steer tires off my parts MH today and sanded the white paint off and buffed them out ,didn't spend a lot of time on them but they didn't turn out to bad. I know the one mirror is wrong but they were given to me so l can live with it. It was about 2 inches wider than the opening so I was going to send it back but shipping was going to be 70 some dollars so I got the cut off and made the opening bigger. Popular Post keg1 Posted August 14, 2016 Author Popular Post Share Posted August 14, 2016 Finally got it pretty much together, had carpal tunnel surgery on both hands and I think I screwed that up by not taking it easy but have to much to try and get done. The 10 speed is in and rears are changed, all that's left is getting it poli shed up and a little work on the pump and I should be on the road. Only took 2 months longer than I thought.
