e9 v8 tachometer location

Recommended Posts

Hi...where does the e9 engine supply tachometer signal or drive? Mine has a bosch pump...my old V pump ran off the pump gear

Maybe that's when they started to the electronic tach.

my E9 is in an MH cabover so I have to assume is different in hose layout than your Super... but not sure. Of all the pics I have there are only two of the pump area.. however, if you give me an idea of which hoses you are interested in I can take pics of it next week... they are pretty snug in there and may be hard to photo... let me know if I can help

The E9 with the Robert Bosch pump I have came out of a 92 MH and it had cable driven Tach it drives off the fuel pump gear on the front just like the AMBAC pump I have. On my other E9. So they must have went to electric tach in 93.

Thanks Bad dog...the new pump I have to install has no drive keyway in the front like the ambac has...maybe it might be a newer in line bosch pump that requires the flywheel housing tach?
