Is is good practice to add a small dose of some kind of lube once a year or so like ATF? This is for a 1978 R model that does not really have any air leaks but I just want to keep it that way and was curious about lube. If compressor blow by gets too bad, you should rebuild or buy a new compressor.Oil will make a mess of most air dryers if so equipped. Compressed air makes condensation when the air cools. Add water with oil and you have sludge. Sludge kills brake systems.The best maintenance is to drain your air tanks at the end of the day.
