Picked up this B61ST Dump Truck

Recommended Posts

The plywood would help keep it warm...much better insulator than the steel which would yank the heat out of the load for sure. Sand and varnish it up in good shape. You can have one of the "rare" woodie dump bodies. Would definately be worth more then.

Let us know if/when she runs.

TRDL -- 5 speed transmission with 2 speed compound box attached. with aluminum case. L stands for reduced or light weight

5 -- Transmission is called a uni-shift.

Interesting with the wood on the dump body, makes sense though. Paul

From the post earlier, that number is the a duplex. If the air shift cylinders are discontinued, I wonder if thay can be removed and install the other shifter To make Iit manual.

I don't know if the cases and shifter forks are the same in the Uni Shift Duplex is the same as the conventional 2 sticks. The rear box looks different between the B and the image, MACK Uni Shift image I posted is from a MACK N model manual

They will hang up in Neutral if you shift hi-lo or lo-hi with the main box in neutral.

If you decide to part it I would be interested in the transmission. I have a B61 with a TRDL725 Unishift trans that the rear case split. Been looking for a few years now for the right one for my truck . Am about ready to drop a duplex in it till I find the right one=

I've got a TRD 72 Duplex Direct that I would like to get rid of and clear up some floor space. I'm located in No Va. Send me a PM : hscott1937@aol.com
