superdog you can likely answer this question a fellow was telling me today in no uncertain terms that all b73 macks came from factory with cummins power what say you?

yep,that is correct,B73's had natural aspirated Cummins in them,220's some very late ones had 250's.B733 had the turbo'd 262,B77's had the supercharged Cummins,and B773 had the 335 Cummins

Given the current size of your collection, I'd say that particular B is an important part of Mack history.

Not to be a downer, but is this the one you lost in a fire?

Ok, so what do I have? Short of braving the cold to go look at the vin on the frame. I thought it was a B71 because it had the radiator mounted "ahead" of the fenders and is Cummins power

sounds like a B71 to me,those were the 1st B models to get a Cummins

That was Macks's way of identfying different Models. Same as R,F or U- Model use 607,685, 686 etc.Never any stupid questions. Joe D.
