I got the tube out. i was playing around with it for a while and finally got annoyed enough to fire up the torch and just start cutting. Once i did that it took less than an hour and there was no damage to the casting which is what had me so timid. I was also pleased to get all of the pins out intact( after much rosebud work) as they are very pricey. the first spring shop guy told me i would never get them out. I only had to cut two lock collars. now i can't find new ones so a friend is going to make them for me. 6368 Posted February 13, 2015 Author Share Posted February 13, 2015 Almost done now. but i don't i don't know what to put in the trunion for lube. i' am pretty sure it is some type of oil, but my end caps have had grease zerks installed by someone. they probably did this once the seals blew out.
