This is ridiclous, in a nutshell, a guy on Hanks has complained about a guy on BMT using his pic without express permission.

Ok, if the guy on Hanks wants to be like that he can, probably because he has a case, I'm not saying he's being reasonable though. He may have been having issues with this subject for a long time, so he's got a bee in his bonnet about it.

Since this topic/subject started a day ago most of the talk here has been about how Hanks is wrong and unfair, or members missing the point and bringing up ridiculous 'what if's'.

Then a thread starts on Hanks about BMT, and how we are childish wannabe's, and members here are complaining about whats been said on Hanks. The main contributor from Hanks is missing the point also, but is cheesed off at what the guys on BMT have said about Hanks.

Put your head under a cool tap and think about it.

I agree, nothing good in the end will come from this. 1st the photo feud starts, then we move to a SLR verses a Digital battle, than Color or Black and White. One day it will escalate to a Flash Cube Mob attack.... :)

All kidding aside, myself included, don't lower our selves to their level of school yard antics. We have a web full of photos and info at our finger tips, Why porn alone ther are 567,783,2355,234,561 sites.

Funny, I have a few pics of trucks that I have owned over the years on Hanks. Most were put up by a fellow truck enthusiasts who took pictures at my yard, or on a jobsite and they ended up on his website. Do I need permission to copy and paste a picture of my own equipment? LOL!

My trucks aswell were snapped and posted on Hank's site and were in a few "old Iron" forum discussions. A friend of mine in the "Hank's forum" alerted me to my trucks being used on his site. I was surprised as the trucks were parked on private property (a customer's) and some drove up and took a few snaps.

As far as I know,Hank himself has not aswered Barry, has he? I think Barry has handled the situation very cool and professional, not to mention right to the point! Until BMT hears from Hank himself, I would consider this a non-issue brought forward by a couple of ladies, whose time of the month has caught them with no Midol in the medicine cabinet!

Effing ridiculous! so we can keep our "little Mack club"? i for one am very proud to be a member here, and would'nt trade the people i've met, stories read, what i've learned for anything!................i say walk a mile in my shoes sonny, then we'll see who's a "wannabe" LOL!.............................Mark
I like how the guy thinks were the ones complaining someone stole one of our pictures and put it on Hanks. :loldude:

That's not the first time that guy has gone off some rant after completely missing the point. I once posted a question regarding an LTL rate and his reply something to the effect of me being responsible for rates being in the toilet. He then called me and the Moderator on Hank's....wait for it....wannabe's. He knows everything about everyone and compared to him, you ain't done shit.

As far as I know, Hank is not as involved with the forum as much as the Moderator, Rob Archer. I'm surprised to see that the view count is up to 135 and the reply count still stands at 5. I wonder if they are just ignoring it and hoping it will go away. Rob does an excellent job of maintaining order over there and it's unusual to not see him reply to that thread, unless of course he's away somewhere and not accessing the site.

Correct, I emailed Hank at the first sign of trouble and to date, I have received no reply. I don't want a feud between websites I just want them to understand that we are not a pay site, we don't make money from the forums and their photos are just being posted under the fair use clause of the US copyright laws for comment purposes. I see no harm in the way we use their photos or any other downloaded photo from the new. BMT is dedicated to supporting the antique and classic truck hobby as well as peer to peer support for Mack Trucks of all ages...this is purely non-commercial as far as BMT is concerned.

I can't even register on Hank's forums as new member registration seems to be disabled.

Oh well look on the bright side...our BMT Gallery is HUGE! We have almost 11,000 photos hosted and over 4 Million views! I also just made a few setting tweaks to make the gallery easier to use!

Damn it, Ron !!!!

Are you going to become a criminal now?

Nice old time photo. I assume one of those horse was named Mack......?

Is this business "Smith" related to you? Just got it after I clicked on the picture to make it bigger.

Jim

It doesn't cost anything to pay attention.

Yes this was our family business, we were in business for 128 years 1882-2010,

We started out hauling just about anything, moving and storage, hauled milk, started hauling horses in 1916 and did that and household moving till we closed the doors in 2010.

Pretty KooL! I got it after making the picture bigger to better read what was on the side of the wagon.

After that amount of time in the hauling business, your family has seen and done it all!

Either that or they're keeping their communications about it in PM, so we can't see it.

Barry , Here is their method of joining .

I assume I do not need their permission to post this.

Welcome to Hank;s Truck Forum. If you are interested in becoming a part

of Hank's Truck Forum, you will find that self-registration has been

turned off. This is a result of so many spammers and porn sites trying

to create problems on the Forum. So as a result you will need to email

Hank Suderman at cdntrucky@shaw.ca or Robert Archer at rwa013@yahoo.ca

and let us know that you would like to join the Forum. We will then

email you back and ask you some questions before we sign you up.

Paul,

That's not the way, there is written "let us know that you would like to join the Forum" but not inform about any issues.

Ron,

Great job!

On my mind, we need an official answer with comments about relation to a copyright law.

Those little pictures of low resolution don't seem to me as a serious subject of sb's property.

Of course the best way is to end up with that nonsence battle.
