is the cab like the old McCormick aka International ??

Yes,the IH Comfo-Vision cab was used on everything from FWD's to Oshkosh's,Sicards,Clines,Diamond T's,you name it.There was a few variations, and they were not all just a bolt on replacement,as floor boards, cab back panels, door handles, vents, were different in some makes use of the cab.The years they were produced also shows the differences. That cab started in the early '50's on the IH L-series and went as late as '72 on the IH M-series.

I have a couple of the Higgins Hendricksons too...post-510-0-85094800-1359600247_thumb.jpgpost-510-0-96836800-1359600284_thumb.jpgpost-510-0-01557200-1359600334_thumb.jpgpost-510-0-47373300-1359600375_thumb.jpg I was told by someone who called Higgins, that the newer Hendrickson was sold to George Young and painted black. So the last 2 pictures are actually the same truck.

Ken,I have a picture somewhere of Hendrickson with a set-forward front axle (rare as the cabover). It kinda looks like a IH "Westcoaster",I'll have to dig that one up.Yes,they must have invented the set-back,or at least was the biggest user of the concept.

Nice pics of the Hendricksons everyone! Looks like they were one of the first with a "set back" front axle.

Not so much a "set back" front axle but rather a "set forward grill"! These remind me of the International Harvester 2+2 articulating farm tractors from about 1978 to 1984. Lots of front overhang.

The IH 2+2 tractor never caught on. I believe it was too long and turning radius too big.

This guy was definitely the cock of the walk back in the day. Budds on the steer, A/C, dual horns, chrome hub caps, all the pin stripping. May even have a 318 rod knocker (Detroit) under that tilt hood. -Brad

..

Not only all those options,Brad, but a "banjo" muffler besides!

This one (which I had a shot of on the first page),is parked right next to my storage trailers. It has a non running 6-71,and a 10 speed in it.The cab is rotted really bad,but the damn doors shut like a new one! (go figure).Mirrors have thieved off of it(no biggie, same a R-series IH).Otherwise complete.post-510-0-17669000-1360336334_thumb.jpgpost-510-0-03696100-1360336374_thumb.jpgpost-510-0-67542000-1360336423_thumb.jpgpost-510-0-66872600-1360336459_thumb.jpgpost-510-0-10358700-1360336566_thumb.jpg The last year I remember seeing this truck on the road was 1986.That was the year I got out of the ARMY,and started hauling for Meyer Material Co. with my own truck. This truck was originally a Glen Meyer truck out of Palatine,Ill.
