Chicago R models

Loaded or empty, oversized? ..i.I think the main entrance is off 63rd street? If that's they NS yard your talking about...they are doing lots of construction west of the yard by I94 and wentworth. If your legal and If your coming from I-80 take 57north to 94 west exit 59th and go back over the expressway then take the east94 frontage rd ( south yale) back to 63rd st. I think 63rd is 13'8" under all the rail road tracks. The bridges down that way can get narrow for over sized stuff...

If your coming from I-88 , you have some options to zig zag to get to the south side....I would take 88 to 294 south to 55 north to 94 east. Little longer more tolls but less traffic. Exit 63rd and make a left at the top of the ramp follow 63 to the yard..on your right. Or do I-88 to 290 east thru downtown to 94 east to 63rd...this way will have more traffic but less tolls.

going there to load. 14'10" wide and 14' tall. This is going to be fawking fun. At the Ta in Elgin.

Hmmm yea ....look at that website I told you about with all the bridge height info for Chicago...http://www.cityofchicago.org/content/dam/city/depts/cdot/bridge/general/PostedClearances072312.pdf

If your going to the entrance on 63rd street you have a 13'8 to the west and13'6" to the east.. Unless they have an exit to the south but I don't see one on google maps....are you picking up a crane in the yard or is it just west of their yard... They have been knocking down old rr bridges and making a new RR interchange near by and if your lucky it will be just west of the NS yard and you will be ok...

That's Couch (Kevin Koch's brother) ! He used to have a CL-9000 Ford with a 350 Mack in it! He and his dad were with Terra Cotta for years.

The man that founded Terra Cotta (in the '50's),Mike McPike (a great guy from all accounts) left the business to his daughters to run. They in turn sold it to a guy that got in way over his head and lost it. Many O/O's were stiffed thousands. The property and any other assets were bought by Sunset Cartage. Some of Terra Cotta's O/O's,leased on with them.

Sounds about right Trent (the tens years ago part). Many O/O's were there for years. They were treated right by the "old man" and had no reason to leave. Unfortunately, that all changed when Mr. McPike was no longer the owner.

shit you think an overpass is gonna stop me. Hell rubbing is racing. ;) nope no contact at all other then some rough gd roads. It worked out pretty good other then the moron front escort. Dipdhit stopped in front of me 3 times. told him he does it again that will be his last time as the ass end will be the new front bumper. I told him there is no reason you need to stop short on me as I am getting ready to make the turn. In Jackson,Ga now. Make Fl tomorrow and sit in the rest area all damn day.

Glad you made it out ok...if I wasn't loaded with a 13'6 machine I would have dropped down the 4 blocks to say hello real quick. But that part of town sucks for low bridges.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. didn't want to socialize with a Paccar driver ;) lol no problem I understand. Actually the route out wasn't as bad as I thought. went slow under a couple bridges that I swear lied on the 14'2" mark they looked real close but it was all good. Had a damn airline break and that was fun going theu the Indiana coup. But didn't hear it and kept trucking.
