I would vote for the blue and white paint job because I think it has more pop to it.

Jim

Yea, I think the red is ugly. The blue is pretty nice.

I thought I had read somewhere that it had a 350 Cummins, but the model # and pics in this article show that it was clearly a Maxidyne 300.

Maybe it was the kenworth that had the cummins. That would make sense.

Both his K.W. and Pitabilt were Cummins powered.

I gotta dig up that issue of the BULLDOG where E.K. writes a letter (via Western-Union) to Z.C.R. Hansen about his first impression of his new Maxidyne Powered Western F Model MACK. Its pretty cool! I think it was a 300 series (285hp) Maxidyne.

He had other Mack F's, I think another may have been 6Cyl Cummins powered. I think one was like an FS767LT or a 47, an FL maybe, it was a 50" cab with a Cummins 6 stickin out the back.

David - thanks for the link. Interesting statement "This was pretty late in the life of Mack’s R Series cab-over-engine model."

Gee......what about the missing front bumper?

Remember, safety first.

Everytime I see a picture of the cab, it looks worse and worse. Actually surprised it made the trip to NJ.

I'm very suprised that no one has linked to this site. I had forgotten that I had this book marked until a few minutes ago.

Thanks Terry...interesting site and lots of pics. Not much left of the cab, what a mess of rust.

Is it me or isn't the Rob Marino thats in charge of the resto a little too spastic? I enjoy the show American trucker, but wished they talk more with the guys restoring the rigs like the bj and the bear episode. That jumping around and over stating the obvious on and on kills the show for me. just my thoughts

Yea I'm definately with you guys on the fact that the guy on American Truckers is a complete and total loser. He said "It's rolling! I can't even believe it!" Like seriously? What did you think it was gonna do, just stay there? Grow up.
