Obama steered us away from the precipice and is getting the nation back on the paved road and up to speed again. Obama and his cronies have done nothing to restore, or enhance fiscal responsibility within this country. This relates and equates to greed on both the corporate, and private levels. Of course the current political establishment has thrown billions of dollars of borrowed money from a communist country into the economy, and is actively making attempt to destroy, or impact negatively, the very constitution of which the our country's government is established upon. Most of this will be dealt with by my great grandkids who are years in the future. I would think this could be looked at as treason, or betrayal given he is in the highest elected office of this country.If you look back at the mess Jimmy Carter left the country and economy in, and how many years it took the administration of one of the greatest presidents of modern times, (Ronald Reagan) and his policies to take hold, there is a powerful lesson to be learned. I'm afraid this administration has not only negated the gains we had forth, but recinded them negatively for many more years than Mr. Reagan was presented with. Remember one of the first things he did was to cut welfare to those that didn't need it, and curtail the abuses of the able bodied. I remember well that being a lightning rod and public aid recipients being pissed about losing benefits as they now had to find a job which were available. All of a sudden working at the "Golden Arch's" didn't seem so bad when the free money was cut off.While I'll not agree with everything any administration does, this one does not deserve another four years in office to abuse the powers vested in it. The country is weakened and cannot withstand these further abuses, and should not be tasked with doing so.The latest spat of enlisting the "Hollywood Elite" to raise campaign cash; Geezus, now there is some credibility and believability there. They are as believable as some of the characters they portray on film. It's all about greed. How many families, for how many months, do you think that sum of money raised in campaign contributions would feed, clothe, and provide shelter for? How about education programs for the functionally illiterate? How about a fleeting thought of paying down some of the national debt he fostered? Not a nickel of it will go there as most will be slated for advertising for re election. The balance with be squandered much the same as John Edwards did with his surpluses.Yeah, this president has the country's best interest at heart. I am not a Rep or Dem or other. I see the things people did to make this a great country being put in the trash. Why is having a work ethic, a love of family, country and religion seem to be a crime to this POTUS? The democrates have been took by this man and his buddies. Its just alittle more time and we will find out what he is because as fast as his changes are being made daily we will see him take over if he gets 4 more years.The Bible tells me to use thses things as signs of times and how easy it will be for the antichrist to fool the peiople and not only fool them but to beg for more of him. storkmack Posted May 15, 2012 Share Posted May 15, 2012 We just purchased a new to us wheel loader from a small excavator in the southern suburbs. Has been in business for 50 plus years. Since late 07' things have just been sliding downward. This was going to be the third year in a row that he was gonna take the money out of his pocket, loan it to the company, and hope he can make it back. He decided that at 76 years old, it probably would not be smart to try to wait this thing out. It was down to him and his nephews, they are in their late 50's/ early 60's. They are union, an operator cost him $75 an hour with benefits, and a teamster was $72 an hour with benefits. Now, I know that the going rate for a semi tractor with a dump trailer goes anywhere from $70-$100 an hour, you can't fuel, plate, insure and maintain a truck on $28 an hour. These are not the type of guys that helped get this country into the itis in. Thier equipment and trucks were very modest, and they didn't have anything that they really didn't need. That was when the economy began to stall...when the DEMOCRATS were the ones controlling the legislature and the spending. Then, when Obama was elected in November 2008, the economy began to tank as businesses and individuals hunkered down for what they KNEW was coming. How did they know? Obama told us himself. Between his voting record while in the Illinois legislature to his brief tenure in the US Senate...the man had a record of being vehemently opposed to all things American. Like the saying goes, "God, Guns, and Guts made us free"...and Obama doesn't like any of them.As for the union endorsement, it comes as no surprise to me. Hell, the UMWA endorsed him in 2008 even after he promised to bankrupt the coal industry through EPA regulations. Well, he's doing a fine job at that. The cost for anyone to meet the strict EPA regulations regarding coal fired plants has caused many to switch to natural gas. This puts mine workers out of work. It puts truck drivers out of work. It puts railroad operators out of work. It puts plant employees out of work, because the natural gas is piped in...so they don't need the personell around to keep feeding the coal into the hoppers. It also puts people at the limestone quarries and lime kilns out of work, because the coal plants that have switched to natural gas no longer need the limestone for their scrubbers. So, by "bankrupting the coal industry", he's put mineworkers, steel workers, pipefitters, teamsters, railworkers, and any other union involved in the mining, movement, and use of coal out of work....and yet the union bosses continue to endorse this POS president. The union bosses don't give a flying four letter F word about the rank & file. They are in it for themselves and no one else. Obama knows he couldn't do much in regards to guns in his first term. This was why his administration undertook Operation Fast & Furious to CREATE a problem and sway public opinion so that he would be able to get his agenda passed. His administration is also pursuing international treaties which would severely restrict our Constitutional Right to Keep and Bear Arms because he knows that the legislation would not pass. The gun issue was one of the FEW he actually showed up to vote whenever legislation came up....and his vote was ALWAYS against the freedom of law-abiding citizens to exercise their Constitutional rights.And another thing: There are fewer people working today than when Obama took office. The reported unemployment rate is only dropping because they are playing with the numbers. If you are unemployed for too long, you are no longer counted as unemployed. If you are underemployed, again, you are not counted in the number. If they were reporting the actual unemployment rate accurately, it would be well into the double digits....not the low 8% that is being reported.The Republicans were trying to fix the problems with Freddie and Fannie back in 2001, but they were blocked by the likes of Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, and other Democrats in congress.
