Compressor Removal

anybody have any pointers on removing my air compressor on a mack e7 300 engine? thanks in advance.

Disconnect all air lines. Drain antifreeze or cap lines.(I cap lines) should be 3 bolts on flange. Unbolt and slide back should be good to go. Install new coupler.

if the truck has Power steering you will need to remove the pump as well. just 4 bolts if I recall and it slides back. you should not have to remove the return and feed lines to it. not a bad job about 1 hr to remove all the stuff and a little longer to get back on. thats if you have the room to access all the stuff..

Don't forget to install the oil supply tube in the auxillary shaft (the shaft that drives the compressor). It supplies oil to the air compressor. It's a small piece of steel tubing about 1/2" diameter and about an inch long. It just slips into the back of the auxillary shaft or teh front of the aair compressor crankshaft.

I have seen them left out but compressor dont last long.Like 5 mins.
