Hi everyone Since I bought my 96 RD it seems to start real rough when cold.I don't mean below zero but a slight chill (50 degrees) causes it to rough start like if the pistons were firing unevenly .Sometimes it wont even want to start , it would just crank until the batteries are drained.I would like to solve this issue since it creates a real PITA when you show up ready to work and truck wont start. Here are some facts that could narrow down the issue. Batteries are new. Starter seems kinda week compared to our other Ch's (96 & 98) The u shaped fuel line between the two head is wet. One injector line is also wet. The nut in the front of pump also wet ( See Picture) Truck has 50,000 miles on inframe and burns no oil. Please advice on how to tackle this problem. Thanks RED

I have a 1993 CH613 E7-400 no start..Used to run fine but is shut down and has not started on its own.It looked at first the issue was at the harness plug from the back of the injection pump...We removed and soldered the wiring but still have a issue..OK but I can get it to start by adding a quick ground to pins 1 or 2 at the ecm(output to the fuel actuator)..beceause when I remove the shutdown relay put the powerprobe at pin 87 i have a ground feed from ecm through fuel actuator but when i turn the key on it drops out..grounds have been cleaned and checked on the truck.. Also when its running the RPM gage does not work either, same there if during cranking I add a quick ground to pin M4 on the gage cluster it starts and runs...1. it almost like a ground in the ECM is bad 2. but if the ECM was bad would it run at all? 3. when it does run there is no tach (looks like the ECM processes the tach signal) Questions 1. does any one have a in depth wiring diagram of the bosch ECM for this? I have the basic VMAC diagram 2. If I replace the ECM would a ECM from any 1994 E7-400 work? Does the dealer need to program a used ECM 3. or is there a oil sensor signal needed to give this ecm a ground to start up? 4. Am I missing some stupid here

I am handling the resale of this engine on behalf of my overseas customer. I am a freight forwarder. My customer purchased this engine from Iron Planet before he found out how much it would cost to ship it. Now he just wants to recover his expense by having me sell it for him. This is my first post on this Big Mack Trucks forum. I do not know much about the engine other than what is listed in the Iron Planet listing. My customer paid $700 + the auction fees. He is hoping to get as close to that as possible in this resale. You should be able to view the engine and pictures by clicking this link: http://www.ironplanet.com/for-sale/Truck-Parts-Mack-E7-237-Engine-Texas/593641?h=5000%2Csm%7C1%2Ck%7C593641%2Cmf%7C1&rr=1&hitprm=k%3D593641,mf%3D1,sm%3D1&pnLink=yes If the link does not work (because you are not a member of Iron Planet), just google "Iron Planet 593641" and it should be visible. This is not a scam. I can provide you with whatever information you need to verify the authenticity of the engine, the location, whatever you need to be comfortable with the transaction. Feel free to email me at ben@rounderslogistics.com if you are interested in this engine and have any questions. Cheers!

Anyone have any idea why my e7 470 Fleet liner starts having split second engine stop and then start again, this can happen every second or up to 10 seconds but mostly happen every 3 to 4 seconds. It's like a cough. Only seems to happen after using the engine brake, even thats variable, after using engine brake it can start playing up straight away or some times up to 15 minutes after. It will keep doing it for over half an hour, I think sometimes when you hit a decent bump it will cure itself. Or it won't fix itself until its been turned off and the next day it will be allright. If you don't use the engine break it dosen't seem to happen.

I'm looking at buying a 2007 Ch-613 E-7 427 that has 312,000 miles. It had its frame stretched/doubled to haul a 5000 gallon water tank and I am seeing mixed reviews on the 427. I have a 96 RD-688SX that's been a workhorse and like to know if the 07 can be as dependable. Can anyone offer their thoughts? Thanks

I Have a 1993 Ch 613 with a E7 350. Was currious if u can tweak the injection pump even though it has electronic throttle or just buy a Blixxton Chip to get a little more power

The mechanic was asking me the other day "Why haven't you had your truck turned up yet?" I have a 355/380 e7 and I told him it was decent on power and blowing up that motor didn't seem like a good idea. He said that all you need is a new turbo and injectors $$$$$. Can I safely have it turned up a little +- 25 hp WITHOUT changing parts?
