  1. I won't be bringing a b-model but hopefully i'll have my red 77' 3/4 ton Chevy truck finished in time. should be anyhow, only have the driver boxside left to finish on it. i'll just have to take out a small loan to buy fuel to drive it down there haha
  2. called everyday since Thursday. left two messages. no answer. must be they don't wanna sell it too bad
  3. I called today and left two messages. hoping to hear from him tomorrow as I would like to go out and snatch it up this weekend. I was hoping nobody on here would spot it before I talked to the guy hahaha.

  7. from my standpoint I hope it doesn't come to the states. I work for Walmart Distribution center in the receiving dept. I'm not a big fan of the idea of a drop deck trailer for me to unload. all that extra space in the front will be just more freight I will have to handle by hand instead of using my lift considering about 25% of the trailers we unload come in on our own trucks. however I do like the idea of more cases on a trailer because it makes it easier for me to make my production rates.

  10. nice truck, I've got one myself that's almost done. started as an 85 GMC. frame was shot so we put a 77 frame under it. Now as it sits it's an 85 cab and nose, 77 frame, 76 axles (DANA 44 and 14 bolt 10.5 rear, 208 transfer, 71 engine (350 4 bolt 010 high nickel content block) and turbo 400 trans, box off an 87. it's such a mix match of parts that I named him Heinz, because he's 57 varieties haha. fun trucks to work on. can keep them simple. and it's back when GM still built a real truck

  12. I could go to mike's place for a vacation. I don't think i'd ever get bored. little woman on the other hand might not feel the same way hahah

I finally got a hold of the guy today after a week and a half. he sent me crappy cell phone pics that were very vague. i'd like some detailed pics of the back of the cab, floors, doors, sheetmetal in general really. someone to let me know if it is in fact a tri-plex like the ad says. anything else that can be told about it from a fellow truck lover compared to the guy that owns it. he doesn't seem to want to talk on the phone. I've also got a possible lead on bringing it home but if anybody wants to throw a price out on hauling it to CNY let me know.
  14. idk why he bothered to relist it because i've been calling him for two weeks now. was supposed to send me more pics and never did. called and left a message with no response, called again and left another message with no response. tried a week later, still no response. i'd have to say he's a bit of a stroker. kid that answered the first time said he was selling it for his uncle, so i asked to talk to his uncle and he said his uncle doesn't want to talk on the phone????? kinda pissed me off a bit. oh well
  15. I have seen white diamond and heard that it has good results. However, I am a fan of Speedy brand metal polish. I use it on my truck wheels, nerf bars, snowmobile running boards, my Harley, etc on all chrome and aluminum. the nice thing is it doesn't leave swirls, goes on easy and comes of easy, and is abrasive enough to really make dull aluminum shine.   16. so I called the number and the guy is selling the truck for his uncle. didn't know a lot about it except it ran when it was parked a few years ago. he was supposed to send me pictures. I asked if I could speak with his uncle because he owns the truck and he said no. kinda fishy I thought. the guy said he would send pics to my phone later in the day. that was last Friday. I tried calling him Saturday and left a message. then I called sunday and left a message so I gave up on it. must be he doesn't want to sell it that bad
  17. well mike if it was an 18 pack of pbr you really would of had my attention. I looked at this dm two or so years ago and was told it was a 300+. no hood scoop but it does have a dual tube air cleaner. when I looked at it and opened the hood the bees (no pun intended) were flying around so fierce that I slammed the hood and walked away. I couldn't get the hood open all the way because it had a hillbilly cow catcher that was bent every which way but sunday. I tried looking behind the pump to check the numbers but had a hard time in the circumstance. I was told it was a 300 +. my biggest concern is trans mounts for a double disk clutch. I don't want to have to build a truck from scratch like my brother did with his 66 R600
  18. but that had to of had a double disk quad box. I doubt a single disk would support that much power. or would it?

I know a 237 is a common and fairly simple swap in a B to gain a lil more ass over a 673, but I seen one truck (tandem white and grey B61) last year at the ATHS meet in Springfield and should have gotten more pics and looked things over a bit better but I didn't. too much to take in haha. so who here has put a 300+ in a B model? what did you do for trans mounts (definitely need a double disk clutch over single)? hood scoop is easy. what'd you put behind it for a trans? reason I ask is because I've got a line locally on a strong running 300+ with a twin stick six speed for a steal out of a DM. any and all input is extremely appreciated. I know a 237 is a much easier swap but a 300+ in a single axle B would be pretty bad ass. plus for the price it's hard to pass up
  20. I don't care for the quad headlights but the visor is kinda cool. makes the truck look pissed off
  21. myself, i'd keep it pure mack and consider a 673 or 711. duplex or quad box. 237 might be a tight squeeze clearing the hood. definitely have to regear the rearend. way to high for smoke. something in the 4.00 to 5. 29 range to make it road friendly.
  22. the only trouble with that Vinny is Myself and Matt are both "well nourished beer drinking individuals" and without a set of training wheels neither of us could drive it because it would tip over hahah
