  1. Mr. Choo Choo, I am jealous. I have ridden the J611 here in VA but only in coach. The J611 is owned by the VA Museum of Transportation in Roanoke. I have ridden cross country 3 times on Amtrak and like it but don't ride it unless you have spare time on your arrival date. EDIT: THE J 611 was built in 1950 by N& W and could move 15 cars at 110 MPH.
  2. Here is a White I posted before. The owner said he needed to put smaller wheels on it to slow it down. He said something about it cruising good at 80 MPH.
  3. Paul, I think this is a very good idea. I was thinking of doing something for him and now I am sure I will.
  4. Mr. P.L. Duncan of Columbia, VA passed on Feb.12, 2017. He was 84 years old and was the owner and operator of P.L. Duncan Trucking. For the last few years his sons had run the business. He was a member of ATHS since 1986 and held the office of RVP for VA and WVA for several years. He had a large truck collection and over the years many of us had visited with him and his collection. Here is a link to his obit: http://www.richmond.com/obituaries/article_f61545c5-6175-5867-aa32-e44bde778738.html
  5. Carl. Is Macungie going on Sunday this year? I see you listed the 18th also. I know it has not in the past because I stayed a Saturday night and then saw about 3 trucks at the park making preparations to leave.
  6. When I lived in CA back in the 60s & 70s the people knew the cops could not see them in the fog so they could drive faster. LOL
  7. Billy, I am like you. It really makes me mad. I am sure these morons think to themselves that they do not need lights because they can see just fine. (If they think at all.) They do not realize that them being able to see is only half the problem.
  8. When that happened to me in my pick up, both high beams or low beams (I forget which) were burned out. No problem except the bulbs.
  9. I think we should kick Stone's ass out and let him room with Snowden or send them both to prison.
  10. We are all waiting for "the rest of the story",
  11. Where does the cruise get an input if you do not have an electronic speedometer?
  12. The license requirements vary by state and how it is being used. If for personal use (no commercial use of any kind) here in VA no CDL is required.
  13. That doesn't look like much of a load!! HA Glad to see you back here on the job posting pictures.
  14. Like most of you, I think self driving stuff is a bunch of crap. If Otto had crashed, nothing would have been lost.
  15. The rubber is sold by the roll and the price depends on the width you need. I got mine from my Mack dealer.
  16. What do you think of the traffic pattern at Zion's Crossroads? I think it sucks and I would vote to make it normal-crossing over like that is just not normal. After they put it in some young girl got on the interstate and went the wrong way and I think the traffic pattern is what caused it. Saving one traffic light is not worth the confusion.
  17. All of the Smithsonian Museums are well worth your time BUT I would not drive into downtown DC. I would park on the outskirts and take the Metro in. The Metro is a mess now because of maintenance that is being done. You might want to check to see what lines are being affected when you plan to go. Good Luck.
  18. Dave, did you bring home any strays from Winchester?
  19. What year? Tanks look like the ones on my MH but the driver tank has 3 straps like the passenger side. Are you missing one?
  20. Low air flow at one vent could be something simple like the hose came off inside the dash.
  21. It is definitely a White and I think that is a mustang on the hood.
  22. This is a reminder for the CWTG show (called the Bash) which will be held on Sept 9th and 10th in conjunction with the ATHS Virginia Carolina Foothills 15th Annual Truck and Tractor show at Brad Wike's farm in Lincolnton, NC. You will find more information on the CWTG website about our Friday travel to the Carolina Freight Museum and other info about the show. The CWTG website is http://www.classicwhitetrucks.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1188 The last date to register is August 20th.
  23. I do not know that anyone makes what you are asking but SLC Lighting treated me good when I bought replacement marker lights for my MH.
  24. I would replace the wire that is getting hot. Make sure you have good connections on both ends.
  25. OD, thanks, as always, for posting your pictures. Where is the MH cab sitting?
