I am wondering if the F12 and F16 would've been likely competitors to the domestic class 8 COE segment that included the White Road Commander, the Freightliner COE, the Kenworth K100/Peterbilt 352/362, GMC Astro 9500 and the Ford Louisville CL(T)9000?

F16's on American roads would have caused quite a stir. Joining in the fun of BIG power in the USA at that time.

I run that turbo on a fully mechanical E7 with Rochester injectors and the rack opened all the way. I walk all over MP8s and isx's

Driven responsibly, does that set-up return reasonable fuel mileage?

Is this road boss still for sale?

No.. He scrapped it. I was just there last week.. It was pretty rough, would have taken quite a lot to get roadworthy... but the hood was good. No title and wanted $2500.

  4. I tried to buy that Road Boss at least ten years ago. Guy that owned it was a contractor for fedex. Had all kinds of old iron. Farm equipment etc. I don’t think he really wanted to sell it even though it was advertised .. more like someone was onhis neck to let stuff go. Something was the matter with the clutch, truck wouldn’t move

Normal might be too strong, but I've seen that passenger seat in several Macks over the years.

Looks more like the M60 I dragged all over with the pistol grip, the cooling wings on the bi pod and the open front sight legs. But that was over 40 years ago

It is the M60. My father's involvement in Vietnam is almost entirely unknown to me, but I do know that he carried the M60. . . and that after being drafted, and subsequently sent to Alaska (Fort Greely?) to dig potatoes and haul trash, he volunteered to go to Vietnam to escape the cold and bleak boredom... the rest is mostly a mystery to me. I do know his older brother became a Marine reservist which I understood was the safe choice for him to make(?) while leaving his younger brother at home to help granddad farm... Dad drew the short straw. He was 19 when he left.

I have seen some older Macks with Detroit 92/71 series engines and Cummins Big and Small Cam engines in them. Once the engines went electronic did Mack use other than Mack engines??  Did a Series 60 Detroit or N-14 Cummins  ever make it into a Mack??

I've never seen an N14 (or an E model Cat) in a Mack, but there were a number built with the Cummins ISX. I've seen a CL Mack with a 60 series in it as well.
