  1. The emergency shutdown cable attaches to this valve that screws into the fuel inlet at injection pump.
  2. We are almost finished repowering this R-608 pumper with a ENDT-675(237). The original 707C gasser had a burnt piston and scored cylinder walls. We had no luck finding another 707C so discussed it with owners and decided on the diesel. Her are some pics:
  3. Hi, I have done in the late 80's, early 90's building glider kits.It makes the engine run much cooler exhaust temps and eliminates having to back out of it on a hard pull. You'll be very pleased. Steve
  4. Ya, I've changed lots of frame rails. If the truck were newer that's what I'd be doing. It's not worth the cost on a 7 or 8 year ld truck. Steve
  5. Hi Ray. This wouldn't be an easy swap into your CH.It's an EGR engine with variable geometry turbo.Would need the ECM and harnesses. But to answer your question I'd like to get $4500 for it. We've had it since new and know it's history. Not like a junkyard engine. Steve
  6. I've got a good running E-7 460 for sale. It is in a 2005 Vision.Has approx.550K miles on it.You can hear it run.Truck tipped in ditch leaving field and kinked frame rails. If you're interested pm me and we'll discuss $. Thanks, Steve
  7. Mike, that looks fine to me. I'll PM you. Thanks, Steve
  8. Use a bolt and a self locking nut instead of the pin. That will take care of the problem. Steve
  9. Hi Mike. Hope you're feeling better.I can deal with dents if they aren't too bad.Rust is another story, A couple of pics would be nice. Thanks, Steve
  10. Yah Vlad, that's what I'm looking for. Good to hear from you. Hope your parts books have kept you busy. Steve
  11. Hey Ray, after your Pete and the RW you must feel like a marble in a boxcar riding in the CH.I feel comfy in the small cabs myself and don't worry about falling off my seat. See ya, Steve
  12. Looking for a good used or new R model air cleaner that has the dual intakes. In normal running air is drawn thru the top and by flipping an air switch it is drawn from under the hood. Looks much the same as the cleaners used on the 676 with tip turbine but one hose goes to turbo, the othe ends inside hood to draw dry air.We had a Canadian R688 new in 1982 that was equipped with this option. When running in heavy snow the filter would not plug.I found a sevice bulletin from 1980,no.G187 and it lists the air cleaner as 2MD4007. This is a dry element filter. Thanks, Steve
  13. Here's some pics I snapped today. Yes they are aluminum. They need to be sanded and polished to really look good. Steve
  14. I've got an extra set of original covers.I'll take some pics today and post them. Steve
  15. Hi,is the intake manifold a 105QC5117? If so I have a perfect one. Steve
  16. Unless you have the right tools to rebuild the carrier I wouldn;t mess with it.You can usually get a good uced one from a junk yard or whatever. 4.17 was a very popular ratio and won't be hard to find.Whatever way you go be sure to remove hubs to clean/check or replace brngs and races. If you neglect to it will haunt you. Just my thoughts. Steve
  17. Don,the motor would be a perfect fit. But,no it's for a local fire dept. We've checked around and decided to "update" the truck and install a 237 in it.This is a working 1973 R608 pumper. And thank you Mack458 but we're changing to diesel now Steve
  18. Looks like you and Papa are really going to town on the U Model. Looking good.! Hope your Grandma gets well soon. Steve
  19. Ray, if you're not in a hurry to use it I would drop thr pan and check out the cam. It would be a good time to roll in a fresh set of rod and mains too.Just cheap insurance and peace of mind. Steve
  20. Nice clean, neat truck Ray Hope it serves you well. Looking forward to seeing you again. Steve
  21. Yes the rear case can be removed but you must fabricate, beg or steal the tool to hold the countershafts in place.I made one which consists of an old hi/lo range fork with a nole drilled in it. A bolt is removed from main drive gear bearing holder and a piece of threaded rod is screwed in it's place and goes thru fork and a nut is put on to draw syncro assy. tight which holds countershafts in place. I could loan it if you wanted to cover UPS . Steve
  22. Thanks guys. I got the doors, roof lights and horns on.Snapped a few shots. The drivers door is off a CF so I put the bulldog back on, will get one for right side too.
