I love that LTL. It is good to see an original one. A lot of LTL,s you see at shows now are Peterbilts in disguise. I hope that never happens to that one!

Brian, Good to see you and Al. I always wanted to see that show. That is the best time I had in a while. Hope to see you guys at Kasson. Jake

Just a reminder to the local guys, or anybody really, Maggio's truck show is this Saturday. Baxter Rd & I-39 Rockford.
9am to 3pm. Bring a truck, old, new it doesn't matter, its just for fun. Looks like the weather will be good. If you can't
bring a truck, just bring yourself.
Brian, Hope to see you there. Jake

The dealership moved to a new facility a couple miles away in the early 70s. The parking lot on the left used to be a great bar and grille, was our Teamster Union hangout back when one of the Business Agent's wife worked there.
Thanks Teamstergrrrl for the post. I see the chimney is gone. That used to have MACK on it too. I used to drive out of a terminal just a couple of blocks up University Ave. The bar was the Cromwell. I spent some time in there too. Jake

Victor,
Maybe they will do an article about you and your truck. That is a beautiful B Model that you own.

Get well soon Mike. You are on my prayer list.

A few more years of production would have been nice.
I suppose Mack wanted to have production based on their flagship B model. At least they added the B with L series cab to satisfy customer demand.
I had my LTL at the ATHS show in Rochester, Mn when a gentelman came over to look it over. He told me that he drove the last new LT off the lot at the Denver,Co Mack dealer in 1957. He said his boss needed a truck bad and the salesman gave him a great deal because they were pushing sales of the B Model.

Great story Superdog. I remember Pulley too when I was still trucking. Great find. Some things are just ment to be. Jake

Mike, Looks to me like you did a good job saving another Mack. Jake

Al, If you ever do deceide to replace it with the later dry type, I have an extra one. It's yours if you want it. I saved it to put on the LTL but think it may be a little small for the Cummins. Jake

Congradulations Mike. Grandkids are great!

Winter is coming soon to the north woods and it's time to get the vehicles in the shed. This year I have one more Mack that I didn't have last year and as I tried to squeeze all the room I could get, I could see it wasn't going to go. My 1940 Packard had been neglected for too long and I thought maybe it was time to let it go. I had saved it from the junkyard back in 1982 and had done all except new interior. I had a lot of fun with it while I had it but I'm glad I don't know how many hours I have in it. I put it on Craigslist on Friday night and the buyer called Saturday noon. A trailer load of parts went with it so the storage room gain was substantial. Now the Packard is gone and the trucks are put away. Now it can snow. Jake

Al, does that B81/BCR still survive then? That radiator shell looks like an LT or was that fabricated too. Jake

Nice save Al. It looks like it might have an unloading pump on it too.
