  1. Good luck mate, wish I new the answer also. I've got a 470 CCRS but ain't game to be a pioneer with upgrades.
  2. Maybe check ya pins in the Deusch plug, at rear of injection pump. Not sure if a bad connection there would bring up a code.
  3. Any idea why this happens, think we have the same issue. Is there a common problem with the wiring looms shorting out somewhere? 95 CHR 375 vmac
  4. Anyone with experience with a Jake on an E7 and a Dynatard on an E9 as to which was/is more effective?
  5. G'day Refined Trucker, how did ya turbo & injector upgrade go, how's ya pyro & coolant temps? Did the jake change? Has it been dynoed? Most importantly, are ya happy with it?
  6. I have a 95 CHR, vmac. Every now & then the big solenoid under the dash don't come alive with ign on, starter will work good but eng nogo. I can tell when its happened because the volt gauge stays dead. For what its worth I'd be second checking that the fuel system only has fuel in it, no air.
  7. Mine's an 03 also. You can solve/deal with the problem by (every now & then) swapping 1 of the left side batteries with 1 of the right side batteries (not both), or using a shop charger to bring R/H/S batts back up to spec. I've fitted a Redarc voltage equalizer to mine, no more flat batts. If ya don't keep R/H side in good nick the L/S cop an overcharge. The std Delco alternator doesn't charge at idle, Leece Neville have 1 that does, Mack had a service bulleton on it. Let me know if ya want part number.
  8. Let me guess, the 2 '12volt' (drivers side) batteries kept going flat? What year Qantum do you have, and have you got the better alternator?
  9. G'day Geoff, do ya need a hand with something or just want a manual anyway?
  10. Gday 68, do ya think that could be issue with my 2003 470hp CCRS? Pulls good (32psi) when working, but it's a dog till it gets going. I had an Etech that did the same thing, but if I jabbed the go pedal a couple of times it used to come to life.
  11. G'day all, I don't think anyone really answered the question, is one 400hp engine better or more thirsty than the other 400hp engine?
  12. G'day mate, i would prefer a late 02 model onwards, they used a R series chassis and rockwell fr. axle etc. The earlier Qantums where more Renalt than Mack-hard to work on, hard to get parts for and more exspensive. i have an 03 mod, it's only real downfall is the eng fan cycles way to much-not enough opening at the front. Beware of wiring/electrical issues, been told many times that some were real 'lemons'.
  13. How much boost do your CCRS engines make, we didn't have a 427, we had 370, 435 & 470. The way i see it, you cant have more power without making more boost, but i could be wrong (God knows, i'v been wrong before !) If i derated my 470, could i play with turbo, injecters etc to get some more out of it ?
  14. Gday Logtruckman, have you any idea if those injectors would do sum good in a 470 CCRS motor, or if there's other ways to get them going. Seems they cant make any-more boost, mines good for 32psi, if it goes to 33 the prick of a thing derates. Any advice - much appreciated.
  15. Gday bozz, i know of a Trident with an E9 in it.
  16. Gday everyone, i'm trying to decide which way to go. Got a '90 model Valueliner with a bugger'd E6. I'm gonna put an E7 in it but can't decide which will make for a better truck, 400hp mech. or 454hp elec. Also-9speed out, 13 or 18 speed in. I know elec is more time, work & money. Happy to hear any advice, thanks.
  17. Gday mate, i have an 03 Qantum with a CCRS. It's ALL Mack electronics for the eng. Pretty sure Etechs use same fault codes as the CHs. Whats yours doing ?
  18. Hi guys, i'm a long time reader but this is my first post (i think), anyone able to tell me why me 90 model E6 350 4V would break the crank under number 2 mains. Done just under 1 million ks but was still going strong.
