Well, I finally got to take it for a short drive a couple days ago, I still have the grin on my face! Lol. She drives SO MUCH BETTER than I had anticipated! There is a miss at high RPM though, could this be a weak injector, or maybe it needs the overhead run? It doesn't do it at idle, or low RPM's, just when it gets up over somewhere around 15-1600, and it doesn't sound like a dead miss, more like a weak injector. I know nothing about adjusting the injectors, or valves on these 673's, is there a website that explains it?
Thanks
Keith

Still have the B67, I finally got to drive it a couple days ago! MAN IS SHE SWEET !! It drives a lot better than I thought it would, I still have the grin on my face! I believe the previous owner was way off on the 55 MPH top end! I ran it up to about 40-45 MPH, dropped the main box into overdrive, (5th is against the dash) and put the back box in high, and it dropped to 1200 RPM, she is governed at 2100. With 3-4 MPH per 100 RPM, that would give me another 30 MPH. Add that to 40-45 MPH, and that will put you at 70-75 MPH . I can live with that! lol. What a nice truck! I think the guy I got it from ran it all the way from Gainesville with the back box in low, that would give you around 55 MPH ! Let me know if you still have any interest in trading!

Not a big fan of "Jimmies" but this old girl needs to be rescued, this was GMC's "Big Dog" entry into the "Owner Operator" over the road tractor market, I came across it on Craigslist while looking for parts for my B67. I can't paste in these posts for some reason, but if you go to Ft Meyers Craigslist in Florida, it is listed as a 1972 GMC 9500 MH Series, it's in Bonita Springs, Fl, and of course it has an 8V92 430 Horse Yamaha in it! Good luck, someone save her!

I use to run a black " 361 Brock back in "85-86" It had a 1974 Cat in it turned up all to hell, straight chrome 6" stacks, chrome bumper, grille shell, Farr air cleaner, I loved that truck, had a 5+4 double over in it ! Wish I had it now! My dad had a 48 Brockway with a 48B Continental gas job in it, it had a 5+3 in it, and my uncle put a Browning behind those, couldn't run it out of gears going down hill! Lol, My uncle drove that, and my dad drove his "51" DC100 A-Car, it had a straight 200 Cummins, and a triplex, was painted Apache red and Sheridan blue, had Bimbo painted across the front bumper. Back in the "50's" Out of Revere,Ma. I remember when I was little, his other brother got a B75 Mack, I remember him pushing the air starter when we were driving buy a pasture, and making all the horses run! Lol

Love the truck, and my thoughts when I was reading about your problem was that it is stuck in two gears also! Good luck, I'm new on here too, and there are a great bunch of people on here!

Here's one a lot of you may have never seen, or at least those that have, haven't seen one in a long time, I wish I could find this one, it's my dad's old Ford H1000, from when I was a kid, hit was bought in 69 or 70, and he ran it till 73, it hada 1673B Cat in it, that he turned up, it would pull with a 318 Detroit and 300 Cummins, he had a 10 speed with top gear turned around, and a 3.70 rear, with a tag axle, I can still hear that old Cat through that straight pipe! First truck I ever drove on the highway, I was 11 years old, my dad's partner talked my dad into letting me drive on the highway, since I had been driving it all over the yard, hooking, dropping, and backing, lol This pic was taken around 73, you can see my mom and dad in the background.

Thanks, sounds like I will be installing a roof unit!

good idea, I was thinking about how I could check it with a test light. That will definitely work

Hmmm, guess I'll have to get more "up close and personal" with it! lol

Hi, there is NO ground to the frame right now, and no radio, or CB in the truck, and I haven't been able to get that close to the solenoid to tell how many wires going to it yet. When you mention the Negative cable from the terminal, are you referring to the terminal that it is attached to on the front of the starter?
-
While looking my truck over yesterday, I was trying to figure out if it had been changed to a negative ground, since it has had an alternator installed, I followed the positive side of the battery cable to the solenoid, and the negative side battery cable, goes to the front of the starter. Is the front of the starter being used as the ground? As far as I can see, it looks like it is set up as a 12 volt starting system. But I was hoping to see one of the battery cables grounded to the frame, so now I'm still not sure! Lol B ut I would imagine that the lead going to the solenoid on the starter is the positive, and the one bolted to the front of the starter is the ground. Is this correct?

No Connection:
Saw this on Ebay I can't paste anything in these posts, don't know why, but it won't let me ! There is a TRD 67 trans on Ebay, that is how it is listed, under Ebay Motors, Parts and Accessories, Vintage Parts, Transmission and Drivetrain, it is at 150.00 right now, and NO reserve !

While I was looking my truck over yesterday, I was trying to determine whether or not it had been converted to negative ground, since it has had an alternator put on it The positive battery cables go to the solenoid on the starter, and the negative cable is going to a lug on the front of the starter? Still confused, is the front of the starter used as a ground? I would assume that the one going to the solenoid would be the hot cable? Also noticed the alternator belts are ridiculously loose, this may be my starting issue, low voltage.

"Actually officer, I am also contracted to the state as a mosquito fogger, but thank you for asking. OOPS! how did that doughnut get under my driver license?"

Yep, it has the Mack script on it, but that is the ONLY number I can find, guess I'll search some more! Lol

Thanks, I'll go look again, must have missed it
-
Thanks, I'll look again, they are very clean, so I shouldn't have missed them, if they are there, but the shift pattern plaque in the truck clearly shows fifth gear being back, towards the rear of the truck, and not forward, so, someone may have swapped trannies out somewhere along the way.
Thanks

Hi, I read somewhere in one of these posts that I could find the trans numbers on the driver sider of my trans in my 1958 B67, however, the only numbers I have found are on the passenger side, and they don't appear to be the numbers I need. The guy I got it from, told me that top gear had been turned around, (like you can do to a Fuller trans) so that 5th gear is now forward, (up against the dash) is that even possible with a Mack trans? It has a duplex in it. These are the only numbers I can find on the trans, the front box has a Patent number 267440, and a part number under that that reads 284KB5623, the rear box has a casting number 281KBK544, and a part number 281KB. I have looked all over the passenger sides of both front and rear boxes, but can't kind anything, except for the Mack logo on the front box.
