  1. It was very good of Keith to throw a party for the Veterans. I am sure it was enjoyed by all.
  2. Mike i had same problem as you with knee being bone on bone and arthritis. I did get a total knee replacement 5 years ago. It was the best thing I ever did I put it off for over 20 years. It got so bad I would drag my left leg like a pirate. Cortisone only works so many times. I have no problems with my knee now. Thei r was not as much pain as everyone told me there would be. Physical therapy was pretty intense but it worked out for the best. I had 2 women Physical Therapists they were like drill instructors in boot camp. Good Luck Joe D.
  3. I saw a big Autocar on low boy on I-81 North near Wilkes Barre,Penna. today. It had Tocci on the door. I did not catch name on pulling tractor. I think it was for sale on here.
  4. Dumpster girl's dumper looks pretty good.
  5. Scania and Volvo were pretty popular in the Newark, New Jersey area with dump truck operators in the up to the 1980's as a good portion of the operators were from Portugal and Brazil.
  6. Sorry to you and your Family on the loss of your Daughter.
  7. Pa.Turnpike will not allow vibratory rollers on their jobs.
  8. Yes Dan that is the Jeep Fc I saw picture of at Florida Show Thanks. There was a Jeep Fc at Macungie a few years ago that had a diesel in from factory. Joe D.
  9. Looks like a cut-off was added to the tandem. Spoke front and budd rear. Tin looks OK.
  10. There is a FC in Florida that the owner made a tilt cab out of. Very nice work. There is a post of it at a show on Just Old Trucks. The show was held in February.Whose V-8 did Jeep use? I never saw one but would like to. Thanks. Joe D.
  11. I like all Jeeps but the FC Series is about my favorite. It reminds me of a Ford C-Model (Budd Cab) in miniature.
  12. I am surprised that truck is still around. I stopped by where it is located an old truck junkyard that they were selling or scrapping the trucks. This was over 3 years ago. They had quite a few B,H,R-Model Macks along with other brands. I did make an offer on a nice B-66 ? double frame quadbox but never got a response.
  13. Steve did you try Gehringer's in Throop,Penna. across from Mid Valley High School.
  14. Looks like an A-Model Mack in the background.
  15. Ernie the dreaded V-word.Volvo they took out some great names in trucks White, Autocar GMC and still trying their hardest with Mack.
  16. I enjoyed the articles about White Motor Company in WOT. I agree the White 5000 (wrap your a$$ in fiberglass) was a flop. I do own a White 5000 with a 220 Cummins radiator tilts with cab. By no means was the White 7000 (Japaneese Freightliner ) a flop. It was used by many Eastern and Southern Fleets. If you go by fleet usage I think by seeing all of them in use up to the late 1980's it was very successful.
  17. Paul amazing picture of the 1922 Macdonald. I had no idea hydraulic power steering as avaible then.
  18. I have both JC Taylor and Gulfway. Taylor is more reasonable than Gulfway. Taylor does not allow trailers. Gulfway does allow trailers and with Gulfway you can haul your antiques,I think they have to be insured with Gulfway though. Not 100% sure on that.
  19. I think it was just last week someone made a post that said this almost to the word. They must have a crystal ball. There is a lot of competition out there. It is pretty hard to build a better mousetrap.
  20. All trucks running thru New York back then no matter what State registered required a TMT Plate.
  21. Nice information. Our local phone books back in the 60's and 70's I remember the moving van lines had the most pictures of trucks. R-Model IH and White 3000 with sleepers were in the pictures.
  22. Eazor Express also had a Special commodities Division back in the 70's. Quite a few Union outfits had Special Commodities Divisions for owner operators. Some also had a 2 check system drivers pay and equipment check union benefits. It was a good deal while it lasted.
  23. Dirtymilkman. The bulge is just the plus3 cab that was standard on Macks after 1972 I think was the year. It was an option on Brockway 700 Series 1975-77. Except on the 776 Series brockway I think it was standard on that model. How about some dash and roof pictures ?I have been in St.Thomas a few times always looking for old trucks there. Thanks Joe D.
  24. 6368 Talk about the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. I have worked for Pennsy supply since they opened the pittston Plant up about 12 years ago. I worked for Slusser Brothers before that who were the owners of your new acquisition. Good luck with your new purchase. They sold some B-81'S a few years ago I never knew they were selling. When Tom slusser was alive he kept everything. He loved old iron trucks, dozers etc.Joe D.
  25. I went to Hollywood back in 1970 and was at the studio where they filmed Mchale's Navy. PT 73 was there it was not a full size replica they used. It was ironic as I was headed to Vietnam to serve on a Motor Gunboat. The twin 20's on my boat were WW2 Vintage which when you think about it WW2 ended only 25 years earlier and not that old.
