  1. Now that would be something, getting slapped in the face with a setbof boobs and losing my false teeth. Life is good.
  2. Looks like a seat from a B model. I saw them when I used to ride with my Dad. I think that they were made that way to clear the 2 stick shifters. They made for a good bed area and a lot more comfortable than a piece of plywood.
  3. The only attention that she needs is a salute. ATTENTION!! Beautiful, be proud.
  4. What a gorgeous B model! How about some more pics from the sides and interior? You can be proud of this one.
  5. james j neiweem, Me either. Every seperate post has that little box in it.
  6. SkippyMack, Great color choice! The hammered effect is excellent and it will compliment the entire finished project. I look forward to your finished project. Your shop assistants and you are doing some excellent work on bringing the old girl back to life. I'm envious and happy for you.
  7. That sure is a sweet looking Dog! Any pics of the inside of the cab and under the hood? I'm sure it won't last too long.
  8. Thanks for the updated information Vlad. It sounds like you have quite a bit of work ahead. It will make for some real good reading on this site. I always enjoy seeing your work as you are indeed a craftsman and strive for perfection. Keep the pictures coming too. Thank you sir.
  9. Vlad, How is the R project coming along? I remember seeing many St-Germain trucks when I ran New York state and New England many years ago. I can't wait to see your finished project as your work and dedication to detail is impecable.
  10. It really doesn't matter. Facing in or out, looking left or right. As long as it is MACK it is the best!
  11. I just signed in today after being away for a few days and found this new format. I don't like it one bit. I found it hard to navigate and can not find the sign out icon. I hope you can make it more simplified. Navypoppop
  12. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words but all I can say is WOW! What a prize that would be to have in the driveway. Imagine how sweet it would look brought back to glory. MLM, Mack lives do matter.
  13. With the success of Autocar and the new convential cab DC-64 it is just a matter of time before this model will be offered as a tractor. With the quality and design of this model it will become a favorite with most people who want something new and better than what is offered today.
  14. AAA was a freight trucking company from New Jersey back in 50s-80s. A Mack fleet of mostly B and U models.
  15. I do not want to hijack this thread but wanted to ask any of you from the Trenton or Phila area if you have ever heard of or seen HERMS TRUCKING INC or H M ROYAL INC both from Trenton, NJ? My dad and I both worked at these companies way back when. Herms had red/white R/U/F Macks and pulled flatbeds and dry vans. HM Royal is still in business today but only has 1 IH straight truck. HM Royal had green/red B/R/F Macks then they changed to white/blue R Macks and pulled bulk tanks and dry vans. Thanks for any information on these and I apologize for the hijack.
  16. Hurstscrambler, What a beautiful truck! Your determination, skill and pride are starting to finally to come to completion. I totally enjoyed reading your entire 11 pages of posts and photos from beginning to now and can't wait for the final compleated truck. You are a true master at following your dream to be able to complete this project. My hat is off to you sir. Best of luck with her.
  17. AZB755V8, That engine is so beautiful I would be inclined to drive the truck without the hood just so everyone could see it.
  18. I love the electric sanders. When I started driving back in 1970 my company then had sanders on the entire fleet. Boy did they help when it was icy.
  19. Now that's a dog pack worth it's weight in puppy food! One of the best looking group of Macks anywhere. Sure would be proud to own any one of them.
  20. You also saw a lot of U models with the right front fender either damaged or torn off. Did you ever see a driver damn near fall out of the cab because he forgot that the fuel tank step was under the cab? You had to learn to drive them like a COE by hugging the left center line in the highway or risk being on the shoulder or worse.
  21. For most of my early days when I started driving back in 1969 there were no radios in the A,B,F,R and U models I drove. I really appreciated it when I had a truck with a radio. Later when I drove for Conway we had no radios and no jump seats so most drivers built their own radio boxes with Cb's in them because we also did not have assigned trucks. My personal opinion is nice radio box and it is up to each individual owner if they want one or not. Hell you wouldn't buy a car or pick up if it had no radio.
  22. Almost all the old paper mags were the best. The availibility to sit and read has been lost to the digital world of electronics today. The online versions do not reflect the same feeling you had in the days gone by. As a retired truck driver I even miss the paper versions of their respective truck stops. Only TA produces a paper version bi-monthly and that also isn't as personal as bygone days. Be safe out there everyone.
  23. BillyT, No, they took out Berky's Restaurant and replaced it with IHOP I believe.
