  2. “Starting this year, we’ll know when a truck comes into a dealership and when a truck leaves a dealership...........we’re able to transmit this information to other companies ”

Installing GPS tracking devices on all new trucks so that Volvo can follow you AND share that information with other companies sounds too much like the NSA to me. Who gave Volvo the authority to track the whereabouts of their customers?

You hit the nail on the head there.

Pretty sure its an op-in program meaning no tracking if you don't want it.....remove the tin foil helmet! The other companies probably are just parts suppliers and tow shops.

You can opt out, device still stays on. Just like a cell phone or anything else connected to a network, it's always trackable.

  3. It looks like this load of supplies is in Ohio, this would be a great way to give the classic truck community a serious boost. PM me if you are interested and I'll get you in contact with him.

  4. I know of a guy that has some medical supplies and food that needs a tractor/trailer to move to OKC, if anyone is interested in helping out I can get you in touch with him to hash out the details.

  5. Ok everyone, here's the information that I have gotten from the family, please feel free to communicate your sympathies to the family. Thank you all.

Many of you have expressed an interest in making a donation in memory of Mr. Bruckner and have inquired as to where such memorial gifts should be made. The Bruckner Family is extremely humbled that you would want to honor their husband, father, and grandfather in such a way. Should you desire to make a gift in the memory of Ben Bruckner Jr., the family has asked that these gifts be made to the Gideon's international-Amarillo or to the Polk Street United Methodist Church

    The Gideon's International-Amarillo

    PO Box 2304

    Amarillo, Tx. 79105-2304

    Polk Street United Methodist Church

    1401 S. Polk Street

    Amarillo, Tx. 79101

All of you who knew Mr. Bruckner knew that his faith was a vital part of his life. Any contribution made to these organizations will help continue the legacy that he left behind.

Also if you would like to send the family card or note of encouragement, you can mail those to the Amarillo dealership and we will make sure the family receives them.

The Bruckner family is very thankful for each one of you and your continued prayers and support. Mrs. Bruckner made the comment yesterday about how blessed she is to be surrounded by so many wonderful people across all the Bruckner dealerships.

  6. Yes, I'm sorry to say that Ben passed last night around 11 PM Central time. As of now I haven't heard much of anything regarding funeral arrangements beyond the date and time of burial, which will be Tuesday Dec. 3, 2012 at 2:00 PM. As I learn more I will post details so that any well wishers can communicate their sympathies to the family. I know the family will miss him greatly, as will his many employees.

  7. Is this the same Bruckner with all the new Mack dealerships in Texas? This guy has made Mack a staple down there. http://brucknertruck.com/

Indeed it is, one and the same fine gentleman.

Rhasler, Can you give out his or an address so cards can be sent to him for a speedy recovery, and his Mack friends and family may send well wishes and prayers?

    mike

Mike and anyone else interested, the physical address for the corporate office is below, not sure if that would be the right place to send any well wishes. I will check into it. Thanks folks, .

  8. Sounds like the EGR cooler probably overheated and cracked internally after the radiator hose blew. A cracked EGR cooler would allow antifreeze to mix with the intake air and cause the sputter you described, and also the coolant pushing out of the surge tank. If you pull the mass flow pipe off of the cooler outlet and look inside you will probably find traces of coolant.

  9. We have members and visitors whose religious, political and societal beliefs may differ so those are issues which will NOT be addressed in the public forums. Any such threads will be deleted and the poster will be banned for repeated occurrences.

This is from the rules section at the bottom right of the webpage and was the basis for my judgement.

I never meant to imply that political opinions could not be expressed. I understand that these are just jokes, and I've posted similar things myself. I think I misinterpreted the rules somewhat. I'm going to open the topic back up but would appreciate if the more rancorous comments not be made so that this doesn't transition from a political joke to a political discussion.

I apologize for any sensitivities I have caused and trust that no permanent harm was done.

  10. Guys, we need to try to limit the political discussion as much as possible in the main forums. BMT is, in a sense, a place of business. I know at my work that this

sort of thing isn't really allowable, after all it's not just conservatives that own Macks.

I'm going to lock this topic temporarily and then move it to the VIP Lounge where anybody interested can still view it later.
