I have a shaft driven pump off the PTO on this 107 6 speed in an R model.

I'm curious if I can do away with the shaft drive and remote pump, for a pump that's married to the PTO.   Does such a beast exist for a 6 speed?

    Thanks,

    Kevin

I think you’ll have to go with a side mount, why are u looking to change the rear mount,I like them better..

I’m looking to replace my tires on my 79 r model it has 1100-22’s on it now. Can’t find this size anywhere so what are my options.I guess I should be asking what,is the new size I should be looking for?The truck has spokes on it.

You’ll have to get new rims, tubeless 24.5 and u can go with 11 or 12R24.5 tires

  3. The 12- 24.5 Double coin are a different tread design than the smaller sizes,I really like them an they are wearing great, and like I posted before the Road Crew brand are Double Coin but much cheaper, about 200 per tire cheaper..

a friend runs the double coins. he has never had any issues with them.

we run coopers because the dealer is next door to the old shop.

I used to run them, talked to u about them, they went way up almost 700 each, first time I bought them was under 400 I think 375 ..Even the double coins are getting crazy expensive..

Well they are gunna be hard to find in Australia but what I did find was ove4 a grand, maybe 1300 bucks, phew

That doesn't even roll off the tounge any good

    Paul

That’s a lot of bucks, different market over there for sure..

Thanks for that. I might get away with just eight drive  tires for now the steers  actually look drivable especially just around town. for now anyway, back ones are pretty much done especially this one. It was throwing rubber. Just driving it around my property a couple of weeks ago. try to download a photo it won’t take ha ha I think you posted that photograph right after you got them. Certainly nice looking tires.

I also found tires branded Road Crew, they are exactly the same as double coin but cheaper, guy on e bay selling them..good luck

Well, from what I hear they’re 500 apiece and up I have the same issue I need all 10+ the tubeless rims. I doubt my truck will ever leave town if it ever makes it out of my yard at all so I will be looking for the cheapest shit I could find, as long as the tread is legal

If your gonna go with Chinese rubber Double Coin is the best bang for your bucks, actually a very decent tire I’m running 12R24.5 on my dump,30000 miles on em so far very happy with them..

A lot of people wrap a ratchet strap around the tyre (following the tread way) and pull it in a bit and the walls touch the rim enough to seal that a bead blaster isn't needed

This is a bit of stuffing about but will work if your in a bind

    Paul

    Starting fluid works great also..

Agree.  With one of those new fangled tire bars it looks doable.  Just need to borrow friends bead blaster tank.

I bpoght one of years back, they work awesome I’m 72 and still do my own tires because I have that tool, that and lots of good lube makes it a lot easier..

Is it a 4WD?  I did this and more to an '06 F-250 SD 6.0L..  It wasnt that bad, I did axle assemblies and brakes with calipers..  I torched out the old ball joints, and my Harbor Freight 20 ton press, easily pressed the new ones in..  I hope I psyched you up, :)

Lol,yes it’s four wheel drive,I have a ball joint press that I used before on a different truck, worked great but still a fair amount of work for a shady tree mechanic..🤔😏

  11. Getting ready to do ball joints on my 2000 f-250 super duty, have all the parts sitting on the bench in the garage,I have to get a little psyched up first before I start…😂

  12. A little more truck related insanity..I went up the Mack dealer today to pick up a few bolts, there close by, anyway for a 7/8 x 4.5 grade 8 bolt they want 34.26,5.85 for a washer and 18.45 for a locking nut, that’s 58.56 each and I wanted 4,that would come to 234.24 + tax..WTF is this even legal to over charge that much? That same bolt, washer and nut is 14 to 15 bucks elsewhere..

Yes, they can stay with the truck, but IDK if it can be transferred anymore and come back as high. Lower 7 county permits were always different. All I know is over the years all my statewides lost weight, and I don't personally know anyone who applied and was turned down (lottery system) .  I'm a little curious to know what you're asking myself.

A friend of mine sold his truck wit a grandfathered permit on it and two other permits that were banked,he said 15000 for each permit, this was a few years back..

  14. 4 minutes ago, Mark T said:

I don't think you can do that anymore. Something about only the entire company ???  Back in the '90s ???   easily a five digit figure, now ???   IDK if they die with the truck now, or what. There's been so many changes.

The permit travels with the truck,it’s the only way to sell or buy one,I can contact NYSDOT for the specifics but trying to find the value, the time is coming..lol

talked to a friend still working for Coke  in CT yesterday; company going to all automatics . doesn't think the new hires could drive a manual.  He's counting the days to leave it's gotten so bad  . after reading these post , can see why the major commotion at DMV when I turned in my CDL.  couldn't / wouldn't want to attempt getting a CDL today.

That’s ridiculous, why would they issue a professional drivers license if u can’t use it to make money,I thought all cdl were under fed guidelines and individual states..

I agree MACKS...  but this crap happened less than 3 years ago, and the costs rose very fast.. How can you recover from the first price hike, before the second price hike, and so-on??

Don’t know I’m in dump trucking and the only people buying new trucks are not trucking companies but paving or excavating company’s that are doin really well, they are pretty much off limits for an owner operator..
