Well after a string of needed Home repairs, and repairs to mine and my Wife's trucks, and an emergency repair on a customers Granite, I finally got back to work on the E-Tech engine in my shop. As you can see, my helpers are making sure I stay busy.. I also found a ''Blast From the Past'' item, in one of my tool drawers... Too bad the label is worn out..
Nice find, was that the white by any chance, can’t find that anywhere, guess it’s obsolete now..

Not trying to hyjack this post, but my personal beef with them is the extra space they take on an application that's space limited. And the added moving part (driveshaft), which is kind of a moot point, but it's always nice to eliminate extra moving parts when possible
Agree with every u say but my thinking is there is no such thing or I would have had it on my truck now or the 83 RD I had before this or at least heard about it..do let us know what u find out..

You need to check the spin direction of the PTO. If it's a PTO on the back of one of the counter shafts then I believe it spins opposite of typical pumps. You would need to talk to a hydraulic component retailer to check your pump on your setup. Verifying direction of rotation is important. As is communicating it to the pump shop...

Personally, I never loved the 5-speed and 6-speed Maxitorques. Had to pull them way too far down before downshifting for my tastes. Of course, that WAS the whole idea! The Maxidyne engines pulled hard down low. I just never warmed up to it. Still remember the deal on the OD models...go through the first 4 gears pretty quick, wind fourth to the rev limiter, pull it into neutral, eat a sandwich, and then put it into fifth. It seemed like a week went by waiting for the revs to drop enough to hit fifth!
I remember one particular truck we had with the 237 Maxidyne and a 10-speed RoadRanger. Not sure if it came that way or got swapped out (no shift plate anywhere on it). That one I loved. Could keep the revs up or let it pull down...your choice. I was happier when I got back in my Quadruplex truck, though. Felt like "home". I guess that's the masochist in me coming out! LOL!
A good jake was a great help with those trans..

There must be a breather on these trans right,if so where would it be,can I reach it from underneath the truck?doesn’t show it in the book I have but say clogged breather is cause of minor oil leeks…

No check the bottom hot, after running a few miles, the bottom splashes lube up top and the excess drains back down,if the bottom is still over full hot then you have to much lube ..

Those stubby trunnion bars are new to me.. I wonder how they get installed.. the 4or5 of them I had replaced, I used axle surgeon.. parts and labor was $1500.00. but this was also over 5 years ago.. they put the whole bar in with welded on clamps..
There not stubs,just a picture showing the end,it’s a complete bar for 44,000 ..
