  1. I saw some of the letter on line and it says do not go to dmv, everyone gets a special certification form in the mail and it is bar coded to the person being sent to,they give you 60 days to respond or they cancel you license. It must be costing all the states big bucks to comply with this,I wonder who is gonna pay for it after all said and done..lol
  2. Any one in nys get the confusing letter from dmv, from what I heard if you drive interstate you need the med certificate, intrastate no,you must self certify to one or the other and that determines whether or not you need it,just going by what a buddy told me,anybody got any first hand info..
  3. Sounds like you got it narrowed down to the front tires,I would try a better brand tire.
  4. Saw this one while working a few weeks ago, talked to the owner and he said it runs and drives.
  5. Also being in the dump truck business I just like the way the narrower cabs look sittin in front of the dump body..
  6. I used to love to rest my hand on the passenger seat in my rd,took a while to get used to the wide cab of the cl,keep throwing my hand over there just to grab some air lol
  7. My 96 cl has less leg room than my much older last truck 1983 rd,I got the seat jammed back as far as it will go and still all cramped up,maybe its got something to do with the seat witch is the original seat that came with the truck,it's a pain to even get my foot on the clutch pedal and I'm under six ft tall..
  8. From what I can see one thing hasn't changed much with Mack cabs,no leg room, how do you tall guys deal with it and why don't they make the cabs a little deeper..
  9. Got my answer from Mack truck parts,$$$$$$
  10. 1996 cl 350,where the fuel lines attach to the lift pump looks like a check valve type fitting, are these a serviceable part or do I need to buy a new lift pump, fuel line fitting broke off inside it and cant get it out,the check valve screws out so I'm thinking its replaceable..
  11. Yes absolutely, don't take anyone's word for it,that engine should be marked in front of the inj pump on the timing cover, you need to know what the rear ratio is to figure top end and if tranny is direct or over drive..good luck
  12. Check your flywheel good,it may need to be resurfaced. Also sounds silly but make certain your installing the right clutch,by that I mean one with the correct torque rating for your engine, good luck.
  13. I can't remember the last time I saw one of those rain or flapper caps on a truck, but do remember when they were very popular..
  14. Me to but I add a little silver to lighten it up,use a small four or six inch roller,no need to tape off and they come out great..
  15. Now that makes sense, the aluminum housing probly expands more than the steel plug when hot,if I could find something that will grab it,might give that a shot, thanks for the idea..
  16. The fill plug in my 12 speed has always been a pain to get out even when I made sure not to over tighten it,well now it's totally seized and all screwed up from trying to get it out,any ideas,I'm thinking maybe bang a socket on and weld it to keep it from slipping?
  17. Roof and window flashing is basically the same at a fraction of the cost..
  18. Also check your cab mounts, isolation is the key to noise reduction, the main reason new trucks are so quite is the fact there riding on huge air mounts witch completely isolate the cab.
  19. Thank you but I can buy the correct bumper manufactured by valley chrome for 420 plus shipping..
  20. Thant another down side of going to a chrome bumper,I will have to swap back in the winter for my plow set up.
  21. Could never wear out that bumper,it's made from quarter inch steel, any one that gets close to it says holy chit where did you get that from, lol I have the build sheet for the truck and the Mack dealer had it special made for the original owner..sure would be cheaper to leave it alone, might do that to..
