  1. Get well,Mike. We're praying for you.
  2. Looks like the old O'Hare Factory Branch lot,Brian. Is that at Schmitt's Truck Repair? If so,that's what everybody called "Elk Grove Mack" ,back in the day. What a fitting place for an R model to be parked!
  3. The backside of the glove box door or even the inside of the heater box cover ( if still there) were usually out of the sun,and will buff out to give the paint "mixer" something to work with. I had a couple of color "swatches " for the "seafoam" (or light mint) green. Gave those away to fellow restorers. Mack changed around '70 to an O D green like color. Al
  4. No. A B-53 has the same hood a B-61. A B-57 has the short hood like the B-67. Al
  5. Hey James, funny you should mention that. Charlie Case's LJ was in fact a Rogers Cartage truck. He told me he went down to their terminal and they had 4 or 5 LJ's out in front for sale. He picked that one. I was always going to ask him if Rogers had put the WHITE rear axle in it,or did he? Al
  6. You & me both,Mike. Charlie and Florence were an inspiration to us all. They had seen everything , plus! That's what made the truck so valuable to me. I got to spend a lot of time talking with them. One time we had a show going on and Florence said Charlie really didn't feel like going. Florence told Charlie," We have to go,Al Rhino Is going to be there"! That just made my day. I will never forget that.
  7. Yes it is,Mike. Gene Olson has it now. It's in good hands.
  8. I hate when they use those aluminum fuel tanks as "yard pontoons" ! Al
  9. The B and R models are shedding tears........sniff..........sniff.........
  10. Yes they are,Bill. Out of Genoa City,Wi. (just accross the state line). Al

  12. Congrats Tracy & Robert! Yet another chapter on how Old Gus bought people together! Al
  13. I had seen it for sale and thought it was a good price for the truck. Good luck with it. Al
  14. Interesting. I thought the END673P was the only one that was rated at 187hp. Jim is right about the C. I have an END673D in the BCR,that the previous owner added a turbo to. That one started out as 200hp. Al
  15. I used to see a couple of those Marina trucks follow street sweepers and city crews around. I think the owner(s) got busted in that "Operation Silver Shovel" a few years ago. Al
  16. Side dump feature, mackey! Newbies are really good at it! Been there, done that! Al
  17. Better have a magnet or a grapple,where he's going. Al
