  1. Yes, but was in Oct. in 2013. But whatever the month, it was another great gathering. It's a class act all around. Great people and some amazing trucks. It rained hard during lunch but the trucks still looked great.
  2. But if I remember correctly, the B-85 is one of those rare Mack exceptions - odd series number, but almost all are gas engines (not a surprise though as most were fire trucks).
  3. I only had a few to do (thanks to Jhancock I could replace the missing one), and used the orange paint stripper from Tractor Supply (supposedly the enviro friendly stuff). It worked well but had to sit and apply a few times. Nice thing, no damage to the rubber. It was a lot of work, soaking and some careful scraping, steel wool etc. just a thought.
  4. Gregg. That's a nice offer but I'm heading back east on 84 and flying solo. Batteries may not be 100% so how bout a jump start if I need it ? Drive mostly local so til I've got more time w/ her always a little cautious. Love the F model! Richard
  5. Thanks for sharing a great story (two great stories actually!). Good luck, hope to see it someday! Yeah, I learned on an R and love me' but I had to get a B with the big radiator and an L cab too (Mack museum calls it the "California cab").
  6. Trash trucks live a hard life.. Had great luck with Mack's. Drove them too and I'd swear by them. You have MR's and or?
  7. That whole truck looks so clean and straight. Very nice work! That hood is perfect,..if you ever look at one up close the angles are crazy. It looks awesome. Thanks for sharing Jim
  8. Good thing you had the tri-axle trailer! That R is a beauty and a beast. Nice!
  9. Funny, but in their day still so ahead of their time But once you've worked on an R or even an MB (when was the last time you saw one? - Ugly, but so nice to drive and work on), hard to go back. I always feel like I'm hanging upside down on the B
  10. Does look like a nice truck and trailer at a good price. Good luck
  11. Great looking B. Wipers dont have a lot of power, on dry glass they can be a little slow getting going. oil helps and using them now and then is good too. Enjoy the truck! Chrome looks great.
  12. Sorry, I thought I was going to see pictures of an OLD truck! Very nice, a great looking Mack! Would be cool to see the before. Thanks for sharing it.
  13. Awesome job. Hand lettering is going by the wayside. I remember watching a few old timers doing it freehand. Another lost art to computer-generated vinyl. Thanks for sharing. Nice truck.
  14. I hate to ask the obvious, but did you escalate with their management? Usually you get the front line answer but almost every company has a flexible process if you push, sometimes even just ask. I would tend to thing a ground down ring gear would be caused by set up or bad part. You would think overloading and or shock would hit a lot of other parts first.
  15. Peter Pan bus lines in Springfield MA has a beautiful one. Detroit diesels. And look closely, dual wheels on the FRONT axle. The driver climbs a little ladder from the cargo bay and steers from the center.
  16. Look solid. Yes, nice find and rescue. The turn signals are cool. Haven't seen many like those. Good luck!
