Have a 1958 B-81 that I'm wanting to update to 12 volts instead of the 24volt system. Deleted the series parallel switch and updated to starter to a MT39. Now I would like to get rig of the generator and instal a alternator. Looking to change it to a negative ground instead of a positive ground. So any suggestions on what alternator to use would be a lot of help.
Thanks

Had time today to install the new starter. After many years of sitting she runs again. I had already gone threw the injection pump so that's seems to be good but it looks like one or two injectors may be bad.

In 2016 we bought our first Titan and absolutely love it. Had plans to buy another one and then we got the news early January. Trust me I understand that Volvo is in control but I have never been so disappointed in Mack. We are also looking to buy a light weight stone truck. We wanted to buy a CHU with an MP7 8LL trans and around 188" wheelbase. First off we were told we couldn't get the MP7 in the CHU, only in the CXU or Granite. Ok then we will go with the MP8 I forgot what the hp number was but they said the Eaton Fuller 8LL couldn't hold the horsepower. What ever happened to Mack trucks building the truck their costumes want. Volvo is destroying the Mack name and I'm sure I'm not the only one who is really upset by this.

Anyone have a part # for a series parallel/magnetic switch combination, and where I could get one.

I have a B-81 and I'm looking to get rid of the 6 volt battery's and update the stater to a Delco Remy 39mt 12volt. This is a first for me so any advice or tips would be awesome.

Hmmm rout47?About two weeks ago I came across this container flipped over in a parking lot. I know how it happened to. The guys are
pulling 20ft cans that are loaded with corn or beans for export and usually have 46,000+ in the box. He must have decided
to dolly the trailer down for some reason. I bet he wasn't more than a foot away from it before it flopped on its side.

19 axles, 300,000 lbs, took one minute to walk from cab to pusher truck, Trans American Trucking Service, not of NY but was on a NY road so close enough.
That is one bad truck!!!!!!!!!

I think, don't quote me, it was done over at Axle (Nagel) in Batavia
The truck was ordered threw Pozzo Mack, specked out myself, went up to Axle for fenders and wet kit. If you won't custom fenders or anything for that matter Axle is the place to go! The truck is as short is it could be without putting the emissions crap behind the cab!

If you still have the truck I might be interested! My email is Ben.bruinius3@gmail.com. Would love to see some additional pictures and details. I would have to agree that parting the truck out is not the way to go. We all know that some parts are rather desirable and others will just end up being something you will be tripping over for the next twenty years. But personally I would rather trip over Mack parts than see them go to the scrap yard!

No they are different the gu hood is longer

Interesting. Do you have a better picture of it. I've never seen a Hendrickson with a flip hood. We don't see to many Hendricson's in Pa.
Mike
We have been thinking about bring our unrestored Hendrickson to Macungie show this year.

Just thought I'd add these to the Sid Kamp discussion. The Superliner is Sid Kamp Specialized which is separate from
the excavating. Specialized does heavy haul. The yellow trucks are theirs also and are a former Chicago company called
Helders. They went out of business a couple years ago. I think their newest trucks were a mid 80's W900 and a late 80's
379 Pete. They did heavy haul and I don't know where their other trucks ended up.
The superliner and the vision are booth specialized. The superliner is owned by specializes main driver Ryan. Everything else including the two former Helders trucks are owned by Sid Kamp Trucking.

Yes,mackman the B-815 used the END864 255hp naturally asperated MACK V-8.I think there were only like 220 units produced,so its a rare breed.I have never seen one with anything but a quadbox,as they were a "Heavy Hauler". That paticular B-815 of Kamp's,was repowered with a 237 (if I'm not mistaken) by an earlier owner, though.
It's true, the truck doesn't really have a v8. Trust me, we wish it did but it was pulled out long before we bought the truck.

I remember that day. I was the one who went up there to change that belt. We never have a problem helping friends.
