There is a great article in the latest issue of Enjine!-Enjine! by Harvey Eckart about Mack's 100 year fire apparatus anniversary. As Harvey points out it is really not a 100 year anniversary since Mack stopped building fire apparatus in 1990, but it's still worth celebrating.
Has anyone ever tried to get a Mack Fire Apparatus club going?
Sign me up! Love to have a Mack CF registry also!!!

I got some adapters I needed, two older Scott air packs, Circle D light, old resucitator(?)and a Mars "888". Overall good show again. I have learned when I see something the first time buy it because you don't get a second chance!

I'll be there. I thought last year was one of the best years ever. A lot of parts and pieces there to choose from! I have a shopping list for my CF however a limited budget this year.

I own a 1970 Mack CF with a two stage Waterous pump. The transfer valve is stuck in "pressure" mode and I can't get it to switch over to "volume". It's manual and I have greased all of the fittings I could find and it won't budge. Any ideas???

A friend of mine recently purchased a type 25 fire truck. It was stored in a barn for almost 20 years and the wife of the now deceased owner sold it to my friend. Well the widow cannot find the title and now we are runnning into a dead end with Penn Dot. Any ideas on how to get a Title transferred without the Title in PA?

Name: Mack CF685F(10)1209 (1970)
Date Added: 23 May 2010 - 06:29 AM
Owner: tniss
Short Description: Delivered 11/10/1970 to the Lower Burrell Fire Company in Westmoreland County,PA. It ran there as Engine 69-1. In 1988 4 Guys refurbed the unit adding a new stainless steel body, new tank. 4 door cab conversion and all new lighting. It was retired on September 11, 2001. THe City of New Lexington (also in Westmoreland County) purchased the unit it where it ran as Engine 56-2. In 2008 they had a local body shop repair some rust and paint the cab. They recieved a FEMA grant to replace it and found out that it could no longer be used for active fire service. I bought the engine on April 26, 2010.

Ok so I ordered a lense. It doesn't fit. So I think that I am going to have to just order all new lights. Kenny Lane what did you get for your Mack?
-
that looks like its in very nice shape! what department did it belong to?
It was ordered by the Lower Burrel Fire Company in Westmoreland County, PA. Placed out of service by them on September 11, 2001 and then sold to the City of New Kensington Burough of Fire, also in Westmoreland County. I purchased it from them on April 26, 2010.
She is a 1970 Cf Mack refurbed by 4 Guys in 1988. They installed a new stainless steel body, new tank, 4 door cab enclosure and all new lighting. In 2008 it had some cab rust repaired and the cab was repainted by a local body shop.

Hello all. This is my 1970 CF Mack that I bought. Where can I find the lenses for the ICC lights on the roof? Mine are all cracked with some of them taped together!

Just wondering what do you do to winterize your rig. Do you use antifreeze in your tank or do you just try to drain all of the water out? Also do you do anything special for the motor?

I recently started using Lucas oil's fuel additative in my b-model.. Its safe to run in gas and diesel and is supposed to be a top shelf product.. about $24 dollars a gallon.. 3 oz treats 10 gallons of fuel. For you older macks its safe to use with lead additive also.... wasnt sure so we called lucas and spoke with a technician..good stuff!!
Allison. Where do you buy it at?
