  1. I current have a 285 in my 01 RD glider and after hauling grain the last few weeks, I'm ready/need more power. I have a 4vh 350 sitting in my garage looking to be installed. My truck is a triaxle, 8LL, 4.64 rears on 24.5. My question is will the 350 be that much of an improvement? I know to get to the 427 to 454 hp range I have to go electronic. I'm not against that at all, I would love the power, but cruise control would be wonderful for my right knee. So am I going to gain much with the 350 or should I go newer? Thanks for thought and opinions.
  2. 250.00, I'm 6 miles away from the Mack dealer on the same road. I saw you drive by my farm this summer in the truck in your avatar.
  3. I'll look into what it might cost. I work at a Cat dealer and our parts dept. ships stuff all over heck and creation. Shouldn't be that hard to pallet them up.
  4. I've got two sets of 92 & 93 differentials with ratios of 4.17, one is still in my truck. For what I use my truck for and with the tall rubber I'd like to swap out to 4.42 or 4.64. One set has an air lock out for the PD the other is standard Mack. Both sets are setup for a traverse torque rod, the non air PD is course spline the other is fine. The air PD carrier is drilled as well, figured it must have been on an air ride truck at one time. Both sets have ball and socket torque rod mounts. I would prefer an air PD and fine spline. Any one wanna swap?
  5. All the parts have been sold. The bumper and front axle are all that's left.
  6. I'm in Erie, Pa. Yeah shipping would probably cost a bit, it's pretty heavy. I can ship any of the smaller items no problem, and if someone arranges other shipping for the heavy items I have access to a loading dock and forklifts at work which is located right next to the TA in harborcreek pa. Also I travel across Pa to south jersey to my in laws quite often so I could something could be worked out that way too. And everything is OBO. I have an 01 glider with 30,000 miles so I really didn't need much off this truck. I only listed the bigger items, all the small stuff just ask. I'm still deciding what I'm going to do with the rears, they are cast 44's that were on a Hendrickson walking beam. They have 4.17's which are what are in my truck now. If anyone has a set of 4.42 or 4.64's that wants to swap I may be interested in trading. The rears in my truck are coarse spline with out an air power divider and the parts truck rears are fine spline with an air power divider.
  7. I'm kinda having a time with uploading the pictures..... The cab is in pretty bad shape but there might be something useful for someone.
  8. I'm parting out what is left of an 88 RD688S that I bought for the engine. I've got pictures of a few of the items but it you want better pictures or have questions please call or text 814-449-9264. front complete 18,000# axle with springs - $250 steering box - $100 80 gallon steel left and right fuel tanks, they are newer - $200 each 8LL transmission, I assume RTXF1490 as it was behind an E6 350 but might be an 1190 as there isn't a tag anymore - $250 PTO for driving a winch, this was an old oil field truck, its mechanically operated $100 Radiator - it holds water and is in pretty good shape, the fins at the bottom are corroded some - $150 Charge Air Cooler - held 30 psi when I pressure checked it, one lower mounting tab is broken off - $50 Most everything in the cab is in good shape, it has a carpet floor that should clean up good or would be a good template to copy, the seats are in good shape, the headliner and door covers are pretty good - tell me what you want and make an offer. Front bumper - its heavy, its got just a small amount of rust where it mounts but is overall in good shape - $450
  9. Yes, they both are single stud type.
  10. Hi guys first time poster, I just picked up a complete 88 RD parts truck, 4valve E6 350, 8ll, 44k 4.17 Mack cast rears on a Hendrickson spring ride. Both rear diffs are semi recent RE-Mack exchanges. I've got an 01 glider that was built from an 81 RD with a 285, 8ll (originally a 2 stick 5 spd), 44k 4.17 cast rears on a camelback. My question is this: My rears have the 2 piece axle assemble(axle shaft with the hub mounted cover) and the donor truck has the one piece axles. I've read about course and fine spline axles, I'm assuming that is the difference between the two. Can I swap the rears and axle shafts or are the hubs different between the two? The reason I'm interested in the swap is both parts truck rears are recent remains whereas mine are whom knows how old. Also the parts truck has an air inter axle lock which also would be nice. Thanks, Jim
