  2. As a Code Enforcement Official myself, I would contact the Town Manager and/or one or all of the elected officials- they are the ones who caused the problem (the lay-off) and should be held accountable for the lack of action since they laid the permit guy off.

Also, I would ask to see a copy of the ordinance- I have never heard of needing a permit to cut down a tree, not to say it doesnt exist, but town officials have been known to make up a law or two from time to time.

I agree, I dont think they could enforce that so called ordinance. Tell them you are cleaning up the landscape by removing combine. Is it on city property or private property? Yeah, just cut the dern things, tell them to mind their own bidness,,,randyp
  3. Yeah Tom, This texas sun is baking the crap out of Killer. I wish i had sumpin to park him under. I would put a tarp over him, but then how in hell could I see to drive, and it would prolly blow off at warp speed of 58.21765 MPH. That dern Olive can come up with some really hair brained ideas. He must be suffering from heat stroke, or injesting too much lead based paint chips, or, or, or, running round nekkid, a parasite crawled up his rectum. randyp

  4. Good Grief Olive! Thas the joke of the century, efficiency expert? Me? Olive, you wouldnt bleeve all the stuff them mining engineers look at to cut cost, improve production and all. They really got it down to a science now, you go work a 12 hr. shift there, and they got every minute of that 12 hrs. all figured out for you. For a few years fore I left, all big stripping tractors had computers on them with ports they could drive up and plug a laptop in to, download everything, and tell you how much idling you did, or what gears you used, if rippers were up or down, etc. Cat even has a program on dozers, to put in what type soil you are pushing, and they will tell you how much track slippage you will have, and how much you should strip in allotted time and distance. Rocket Science! I dont miss all that mess! I must be too old school. randyp

  5. Welcome! Drag up a chair and enjoy the circus. If you got any ideas on gathering money, let me know. Im not much of a hand on the mechanical stuff, other than tearing them up. randyp

  6. Follow Larrys advice and be careful with canister. I usually take plumbing loose and take my whole canister off so i can give it a good cleaning. When re-installing top, push down on spring loaded lid to keep it from turning so you dont cut or split gasket while tightening bolt. randyp

  7. I couldn't have said it better myself...cept I feel like my best friend moved with out telling anyone...I guess we will have to move Randy P into the chair now.. :(
