  1. I got a job interview with Gully Transportation based out of Quincy, IL Monday. I'm going to the St. Louis terminal for the first interview and then I got to Quincy to meet up with the Vice President. I was hinted I would be working in the brokerage department.
  2. That is the first time I ever seen a low boy on aluminum wheels.
  3. I think that can be said about any truck.
  4. I heard them rumors. Them crazy Mack people with too much time on their hands.
  5. I like the plain jane 636L myself.
  6. I just got an Astatic mic not too long ago and I noticed it's now made in Rock Island, IL. Looks like Barjan bought them out.
  7. I'm glad he has his site back up and running! I love reading his stories!
  8. I didn't know, I just heard it the other day. Y'all give me a break for crying out loud!
  9. What does a Peterbilt and Ford have in common? They circle their mistakes!
  10. Wonder if that is what Rowdy has been doing this winter?
  11. I will always find time to pick on I mean talk to everyone on here.
  12. I'm here, I been lurking just haven't been posting. Been busy with school and all this damn snow doesn't help matters none.
  13. I've that with FRAM as well but I think there is more to the story than people are saying ya know. Maybe the reason the oil filter blew up or collapsed was because of their stupidity or mistake and wanted to make FRAM look bad ya know. I've always used Fram and never had a problem.
  14. I'm surprise ya don't use Baldwin filters on your Mack like most people use Baldwin filters on everything else or Fleetguard. Actually I got a 350 Summit crate motor in my truck.
  15. I learn something new everyday. Would the Carquest filter be any better than FRAM?
  16. I looked into it. I never knew that. Next time I do an oil change I won't be using FRAM.
  17. What is wrong with FRAM?
  18. Paul Shirley, the former NBA player who still plays pro basketball, penned a long letter today about Haiti and the consequences of its earthquake, in which he seems to hold most Haitians accountable for the dire state of the nation. He begins the letter by stating that he has not donated to relief efforts in Haiti and "probably will not... for the same reason that I don't give money to homeless men on the street." Shirley proceeds to criticize the country and its citizens, before pausing to ask, "Shouldn't much of the responsibility for the disaster lie with the victims of that disaster?" Later in the letter, Shirley dedicates a special address specifically to Haitians: Dear Haitians - First of all, kudos on developing the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Your commitment to human rights, infrastructure, and birth control should be applauded. As we prepare to assist you in this difficult time, a polite request: If it's possible, could you not re-build your island home in the image of its predecessor? Could you not resort to the creation of flimsy shanty- and shack-towns? And could some of you maybe use a condom once in a while? Sincerely, The Rest of the World
  19. You know what I meant, anyone can start a company but not many can manage them well. Especially trucking as you can tell by all the chromemobile's for sale.
  20. I can't wait to read his website again. I spoke too soon, now it's starting to sleet and freezing rain. I'm still gonna change my oil consider I got my grease monkey gear on (overalls). I did finally invest in an oil filter wrench because I had to wash my gloves in the washer and now I got them drying due to getting them soaked in oil the last time I changed the oil.
  21. We are suppose to get 2-4 inches. They said it was gonna start at 10 this morning but it's still raining. I need to change my oil since I haven't changed it since October due to the cold. I'm not gonna replace the filter since I figure I'll save a few bucks and it's more than likely still good. I asked for an oil filter and they have me the cheap off brand so I told them forget it I'll just reuse my FRAM filter. I did get a good deal on the Pennzoil, buy 4 get the 5th one free and couldn't pass it up since I use Pennzoil even though I used Castrol this past oil change. I prefer Pennzoil!
  22. They say you'll learn to work on them on all. Once you work on one brand you can work on them all right consider they are all the same but "different" in a way. They also prepare you for the ASE testing so you can be ASE certified. I told my mom and she said she has to digest it first and said "I thought you wanted to drive a truck?" Ugh I do but I also want to be able to work on them as well because honestly I rather work with my hands even though as a kid growing up I never really wanted to get dirty but now I do.
  23. If I had to choose where to go I would go to UTI for one it's closer to home (4 hours) and it's a shorter program like 45 weeks. It's 57 weeks long if I was to do the Cummins or Daimler Truck North America elective. This way I wouldn't have to change my driver's license and I can still keep my CDL permit.
  24. I'm currently going for management right now. I'm seriously thinking about going for a trade in diesel mechanics since it's in demand. Anyone can manage a company but not everyone can work on a diesel engine. I guess it isn't too late for me to consider changing majors but I would have to move which is the downside to it.
