  1. If the memory serves me good Vinny planned to keep original red with black. But looks like he started to realize his secret project. Who was the spy who took it out on a surface?
  2. It's not only nice but too useful to read so many kind words folks! Because I red them many times and learned 'em hard. So use to speak good things (I hope). Yes, I really liked to see such hidden secrets of America as old and rusty Macks were. As for the mixer truck it's better to google "Gary Mahan collection" or look in the "Wiki Support" of the site. There are great trucks and many of them. I just saw no sence to put them all here on. At the moment I'm not so ambicious to make big plans. The next event on my list is Dutch Mack show in October. Don't forget, it's also a bit less than 2000 miles from my location. As for your beautiful country I see no hard trouble, it's just a question of time and allmighty green stuff. Let's hope. Ken, strike while the iron is hot! I used to do much for the future but once I realized that the future is already came and I also should do for today. We better should remember that. Steve, I liked to meet you also, too sorry we hadn't time enough to speak well (the same way as with many others))). It would be interesting to look over your RW well and speak about. By the word I saw you down the road in I-85 right in about 100 miles from Rose being heading East. Ilya looked over the road all the time during the trip and hoped to see Superliner. The only one we saw was the green with gold strips carried concrete tank. Nobody could mistake the outlook of that truck. It was too nice to see you and too sorry to not see other RW's down the roads.
  3. I see you like to present the Independance day by very attractive form. Happy 4th of July to all of you American guys!
  4. Thanks friends, the pleasure was mine. Ron, when being home I noted I have many shots of your blue baby but none with you or me in front of. I had that idea to ask you about but almost forgot.
  5. Mike, have you started on the last bought red one?
  6. Lot of fun for shure. Just too much brain storm. Looks like I need some time to form a mind of all the impressions. Frank Rose in NY, about 40 miles north from Buffalo. More of his stuff:
  7. Next day I got my path to Matt Pfahl. He is really the great guy, we had a talk above a half of a day. Lots of interesting stuff, the back yard is full of countless treasures. On our last day we looked over Old Mistic seaport museum in Connecticut. Nice place and too historical. We had a plane from JFK in the evening so I made 200 miles back being tight in a time and in the traffic also. Everything vent good though. As you can see I made many things in two weeks and tried to see as much of the country as I could. Now I have a feel that I got many things in common but when I look over the map it seems to me as a little bit of the great land wich North America is. The only idea on this matter - many hopes to continue in the future. Vlad.
  8. The rest of the day and the next one were spent to make a trip to Niagara falls. I was going to cross Appalaches and did many miles along local roads to see more environment. Many times a nature was mixed with Mack trucks down the road. I made many shots of the falls being there at the evening time also. Special lights from the Canadian side made water flow colorful in the darkness. My back way headed to Connecticut but took a half hundred local miles again. I saw hitchkiking girl old Brockway by the way but hadn't time to stop. Although just after a couple of miles I saw so much rusty iron on the right side by my way so stopped and made a U-turn. There was a bunch of stuff including too early units and a shop with guys near it. I walked to and asked permission for look and photo. The guy comed to be too friendly. I said that my interest is old Macks, and he answered "There was a big show in Pennsilvania just this past weekend and I was there". We laughed. His name was Frank Rose Jr. and he said it would be Ok to popularize his hobby on BMT. Here you go: To be continued again......
  9. Hi folks, Today is my 5th day at home, it looks like the life is going to go its usual way and I have a bit of free time to tell much about my stay in the US. I think most of you remember that I first came into NYC and spent a couple of days there walking the streets. Also I met a friend of mine who lives there since 1996 and I haven't seen him since 1996 too. He was doing fine though keeping his habit to drive a car with a stick. My next point was Allentown where Randy Y (1958 F.W.D.) met us and took all the care about me and my son for all the Macungie show and much more. Many thanks to him and his wife !!! I see no reason to post Macungie pics here, hope many of you saw it in person and those who didn't had a chance to look over them online. Although the weekend didn't end with the show, we had a nice Sunday looking Gary Mahan collection with a company of Randy Y and the couple of Dutch guys who are our members. It was really great to see so many unique Macks and many of them in superb restored condition. Scrap metal in the back yard had also its beauty to be looked over. After so many truck related events I wanted to relax my son so we spent a day in Dorney park. There was the area with dinosaurus wich were made of their actual size and able to make movements. Some of them were too realistic. Being ended up with the park we vent a hundred miles with a rental car to the city of Strasburg and stayed overnight in Red Caboose Hotel wich is actually the wagons on rails with comfortable rooms inside. A bit more expensive than common hotel but it was nice to be woked up with a sound of a steam loc's horn wich drove right in a hundred yards from your window. Next day was for Strasburg rail road and museum. I noted the model of covered bridge in some of RR diaramas and enjoyed it. Many Amish people carriges (Baggies) took part in the scenary. I mean real ones, not of the diarama. To be continued...
  10. How do the carriers? Could you make a picture of? Now I'm much closer to import heavy stuff than before.
  11. Thank you for clearing me up and congrats again!
  12. Have never been to Canada but saw it from the other side of the river. By the word I feel myself as Canada-related because my R's made in the maple leaf country. Although if anybody could clear me up a bit of what the Canada day is it would be nice. Happy day to all the Canadians!
  13. Looks good in a parking lot. I also drove my R once to McDonald's with my sun and his friend. To our sorry the lot was too tight so I had to park the truck in hundred yards off. The horn was also out of service but it was a funny trip anyway.
  14. Good object to work over on my mind. Front axle looks too light for EQU and for EHU also but I'm not shure. The rear axle seems to me aftermarket Timken-Detroit. There are spokes in front so probably there were rear spokes also. The guy who put that axle had to cut the cross member off to clear the shaft. Not a great trouble to fix it on my mind in relation to clean up and rebuild all the vehicle. Very interesting find and priced reasonable.
  15. Nice pics Tom. I see you met twice more Superliners on your way than I when covered 1200 miles. And the rainbow I saw was also not double but simple. Maybe I went wrong pathes? Once I saw dark green U or DM aside of I-78 30-40 miles south from Allentown PA but it looked to me you posted it before. Didn't you?
  16. Haven't you asked a contact info of that fence construction company?
  17. Randy, great idea and pics! Casey looks happy with so much attention and so many mammies around. Just don't bring him to this plase every weekend, especially when he'll be older.
  18. Rene, many thanks, you "kicked" me up to the bus right at the time. The bus was the last one to the factory and I got it. It was also nice to follow you as an ambassador during the tour. We had only an hour to look everything over and your experience of previous visits was too helpful.
  19. Oh, hell, looks like I'm back to the normal life. Came home in Thurteday evening and found out lots of to do, carry about and pay attention to. As a nice addition the temperature here was 90 (am I correct - 32 celsias?). I haven't got so hot during all the holidays, last days in Europe it was mostly rain. The flight from JFK was relatively easy with minor exceptions such as checking in 1h20m before the departue after 3 hour drive from Connecticut and $100 extra pay for overweight and oversize due to the holy crap I bought from Matt Pfahl. Matt - great thanks, I'm really happy having that couple of brand new army truck headlights made in 1942-44(?) Belorussian customers were not - they surprized too much seeing so much old truck stuff in the car headed to Moscow from Poland. There were not only headlights because I spent some time in my Nederland friend's house and picked up so much so I could. As usual. The customers forsed me to lay out everything from the car on the table. Seeing nothing interesting as drugs or guns they said Good-buy and opened the gate. JT - the motorcycle was BMW indeed. The only thing I was wrong it wasn't registred Michigan but Minessota. Ken, you noted right - last time I use to remember the words describing an illness in the area of human body's back side.
  20. Damn phone doesn't want to post the picture! Hope you see them all soon.
  21. Hello folks, thanks again for the kind words. I've flight back to Europe successful and now continue crossing the roads. Now at Poland. I'm mostly off the net by the way so more talks when I'll be home. But I'm not empty-handed now. Right today I saw in Germany the motorbike with Michigan plates. With boxes stickered of all over the world. When I got back after a breakfast I had a luck to meet the owners. They were really from the States being travelled from Norway. So the small world again!
  22. Here's a short report of the time we're being in USA. Sorry, I can't post the pics of our trip which are in my camera, so here're some of them from Ilya's IPhone. We spent half a day in Dorney park, then went to Strasbugr, PA to look over RailRoad museum. It was nice to see a steam loc in action. The next point we came to were Niagara Falls. We covered many miles by the way and local roads also. Enjoyed the scenary. There were many nice looking Macks, but mostly of a modern kind. The only SuperLiner we've seen down the road was the green one owned by Steve (sm54) on the 86 interstate yesterday. Steve, the old jalopy looked great! The most fresh news: We visited Matt Pfahl's workshop today and bought some stuff from there. To my great surprise he gave me a box and said: Paul Roncetti sent it to me for you. Thee was yellow book with a list of hardware in it. Paul, great thanks to you! You asked about my impressions of the country. My answer: too nice, warm and friendly people. Said by Vlad, writed by Ilya.
  23. Hi guys, I'm still alive regardless all the impressions of the show. So… What's about the motley crew picture?? Or maybe I miss something important again???
